Owner description: A 19-foot bronze statue of perhaps the most esteemed founding father sits beneath a columned rotunda in the style of the Roman Pantheon.

We had a tour guide with us which made this memorial so much better. She told us the history of the statue and had us look for "hidden" symbols on the Jefferson Memorial. There is something joyful about climbing all of the steps to be able to turn around and look out from the top of this memorial.

Like all of the fantastic statues in Washington this is also a work of art. Massive and powerful. Perfect location. Recommended.

Beautiful as always. I always recommend parking in Arlington and biking this way or take the public transportation.

This is on of my favorite monuments in DC. It is so regal and awe inspiring. Climb the stairs to see the impressive sculpture of Thomas Jefferson in the rotunda. Turn around to see the the Washington Monument across the basin. If you're lucky to be there when the cherry blossoms are in bloom it is a very special site. When you leave the monument follow the path to the left and you will come upon the Roosevelt, M.L. King, and World War I veterans monuments. It's a nice walk through history.

If you like history I would stop in this Memorial for sure. They have a statue that you can photograph but you have to do it quickly and don't hesitate to say excuse me we are trying to take a photo.
