If you love seafood, Oceanaire is required dining in DC. The wide array of seafood options and the superior wait staff are the two stand out features of a memorable dining experience. We started with a variety of oysters and shrimp. We had entrees of Rock Fish, Sea bass, and Dover Sole. All were perfectly prepared. For dessert we had the decadent chocolate cake which was delicious. The preparation, presentation and personal service was exceptional.

First of all it's not a cheap place, but the price is not like a Michelin Star restaurant, so, paying over 350 bucks for a meal of 4 people is not strange, and by the way you are in the center of New York. Portions are big, food really fresh, service is fast, and the dessert is the biggest one i've ever seen in my life, just share it or you can die :) and my fav side is the sweet potatos, trust me if you go to washington you have to try these potatos! It's an expensive place but it's a good experience ..

Let me start by saying the staff were very friendly. However, service was a little slow. They are great at keeping water glasses filled. We had a part of 8 here for a dinner following meetings. The chicken fried lobster was amazing and tasty. However, the shrimp pasta had way too much green filler (some garnish is ok but it seemed like there was a salad on top) and the shrimp was overcooked. The filling on the baked Alaska was delicious, but they put too much alcohol on so it burned too long and the meringue had more of a char flavor that distracted from the rest of the dessert. This was our second trip here. The pricing for dishes here (all sides are family style a la carte) is way too high to be overcooking the seafood. And there are way too many other great restaurants in the area serving seafood at more competitive prices. My suggestion, if you're going to eat here go for something unique that other places don't offer (e.g. the chicken fried lobster) and stay away from the options like crab cakes and shrimp linguine that other places off cheaper and cooked well.

I felt like I walked into a time capsule sending me back about 2 decades. The service was slower, but with the antique charm. Food was just okay - nothing memorable.

We had a business dinner and our server Stephany was very helpful with the choices on the menu. The serving was fast and efficient. The lobster bisque was very tasteful and we enjoyed the Chilean sea bass with the Brussels sprouts !
Great place to enjoy the separate room seating for a quieter meal !
