You choose how many courses you want to eat. Some good, several outstanding. Pleasant space, great service.

Our family all agreed that our dinner at Marcel's was one of the best meals that we've ever eaten. The restaurant offers a tasting menu that changes regularly and features a choice of 4 to 7 courses. They are very flexible and will allow you to pick any 4 to 7 items on the menu (instead of being limited to picking only one from each section). Everything on the menu sounded amazing and choosing was difficult. We found that each course was creative, well presented, and delicious! Some of the highlights were the Boudin Blanc, which cut like warm butter and melted in your mouth, the Pan Seared Diver Scallop, which had amazing flavor and texture, the Bison Tenderloin, which was served in a delicious sauce and was so tender, the Epoisses, which was a very delicious cheese, and the chocolate soufflé, which was a delicious end to an excellent meal. Finally, the service was first class. Everyone was very professional, friendly, and helpful. We really enjoyed Marcel's and would recommend the restaurant to anyone looking for a fine dining experience.

Time and again when we return to Marcel’s, it meets our expectation of excellence - in cuisine preparation, presentation and sublime, subtle, nuanced, extraordinary dishes. Service is flawless. Servers are true professionals - knowledgable, discreet and well attuned to the rhythm of its guests/diners and fine dining. In Marcel’s we trust - for business entertaining and celebratory meals. Conducive to conversation, tables are generally widely spaced and the auditory level is excellent - no worries! Particularly memorable were the perfectly seared scallops on a bed of diced bacon/potato hash served with a Dijon aioli sauce, finished with Oestra caviar. The salmon and the duck entrées were almost as highly praised by our companions. A minor disappointment the evening we were there - missing from the dessert roster was a chocolate dulce (dark, please! not the confection white chocolate) or a seasonal fresh fruit tarte. (But we managed, anyway!) A heads up from a previous visit: some diners might find the air flow from high vents to be very cold and uncomfortable if seated at the tables along the wall across from where you enter the dining room. We appreciated being served gratis a salmon mousse starter while we were waiting for our appetizer course and the delightful small macrons and sweets after dessert - a lovely beginning and finish to a very fine evening.

Marcel's is a great restaurant near the foggy bottom region in D.C. I have had dinners there but never a brunch. We had brunch the other day and it was great. It is definitely a more formal place for brunch than many young people are looking for these days but it is a very enjoyable experience. The wine on that day was half price which is an outstanding deal and the service was spot on. The food is exceptional too. It is on the more formal side but if that's what your looking for this is a spot to try for brunch.

We went for dinner before Chicago at JFK about three weeks ago. Food was excellent and so was the service. Was pleasantly surprised when we were told of their car service to the JFK after dinner. Will be back again soon.
