Description: Designer Walter Gagliano second visioning of BBG introduced a fresh, and romantic feel to BBG. Vermeer’s portrait of “Girl with a Pearl Earring” was the muse leading to creating the new look. “Our original goal was to bring the space to a cleaner more contemporary vibe, when we discovered the over scaled Vermeer print , originally created by Philipe Stark was on the market, our fondness for bold romanticism found expression and led our fabric and lighting choices in a different direction" stated Mr. Gagliano. Chef Steven Hunter introduces a new menu complementing the new look with his own re-interpretation of classic American comfort foods that are stimulating to the palate and eye, Chef Hunter states: “We produce our own charcuterie and fresh signature sausages from organic meats, ninety percent of our fish are sustainably raised or caught in the Chesapeake Bay area. ”We are committed to support local producers, who are dedicated to environmentally, sustainable agriculture.”

The atmosphere was romantic, my favorite booth seats. The service was grand. This was restaurant week and you could have anything on the menu. We both had complimentary wine with our meal. For appetizers, I had the tuna tartar and my husband had the Senate bean soup they both were very tasty. For dinner we both choose the Seafood Fricassee, Outstanding!!!!! Served with fresh made bread and garlic olive oil. Everything was wonderful. This is one of my favorite places to eat because the service, and the food is impeccable.

Excellent Brunch .... great prices and excellent service. Rosa and Olga were great. Our refills at the table kept coming; best bottomless mimosas service ever !!!

I took my team here recently for lunch. We were looking to try a new restaurant and hadn't been. I had the kale salad. The kale hadn't been marinated and it was crunchy and bitter. The salad looked fantastic in the menu but had little taste. The service was good, and the server brought out a piece of cheesecake with a candle for my coworker because she heard that it was his birthday. It was very nice of her.

On a Friday night we had no reservation and could not get into our other choices. We lucked out on this one. Great waiter with good advice. Tasty drinks. Good food.

Awful food and service. This location is dirty with underwhelming decor and absolutely no ambiance. The salmon was over cooked and the risotto was undercooked. The guacamole was served in a tea cup and at $16 was terribly overpriced. The service is slow and the drinks are watered down. Skip this as dc has too many great lobby bars!
