This restaurant is fantastic. It's expensive, but worth it. Probably just for special occasions, because it's high-end. The lobster ravioli is amazing. The amazing seafood appetizer tower, the SAN BENEDETTO, is $240, and can easily serve 4-6 people. Be prepared to spend $100-$200 per person, depending on whether you get wine. Excellent service and atmosphere.

Really enjoyed a dinner here in July on holiday in DC. Had entree main and dessert - all good and a lovely spot by the water to enjoy a meal. Seafood was their speciality and it was great. My husband was a bit frustrated by the wait staff who fussed about checking if you liked your meal just about before you'd put the first mouthful in but other than that it was great. I'd definitely eat there again.

We both had the heirloom tomato salad and the lobster ravioli. Both were outstanding, and both had sauces that were great to sop up with the excellent, crusty bread they serve. The tomato salad had a nice variety of tomatoes, and the lobster ravioli were accompanied by a very generous amount of lobster pieces. With help from the sommelier, we chose a bottle of lovely white wine from Sicily--a Carricante. We ended with double decaf espressos. Now, here's why this is a classy restaurant. First off, they started us with a delightful amuse bouche--a cold melon soup, tuna wrapped in a thin slice of zucchini, and a piece of shrimp on a Sicilian spicy spread atop a square of polenta--all three were vey nice. They noticed we were exchanging birthday cards, and they surprised us each after dinner with a piece of wonderful almond cake with a lit candle accompanied by a glass of dessert wine--truly classy! Finally, the service was impeccable.

The setting inside is beautiful and the staff was courteous, friendly and extremely professional. The food platter that I got was spectacular and the oyster recommendations were brilliant. They are flexible with dish size, happy to make things smaller so you can taste more dishes. Overall an amazing experience.
