It is a very well located hotel (except during Cherry Blossom weekend - when most of the streets around the hotel are blocked of for parades and bloc, parties). It's historic/old, with rooms that are a bit small. The staff is attentive and welcoming, but the prices are really too high compared to properties very near by. We got the special rate for a wedding we were attending on the property, but moved to a nearby hotel for the rest of our nights at less than half the price.

We were there to attend a dear friends daughters wedding. Hotel is beautiful, conveniently located, staff is excellent. The Willard has always and will always be a favorite. Accommodations very comfortable!

Room Tip: We were attending a wedding and a gift along with schedule for the weekend was not delivered until after our first event. Should have been in our room when we arrived.

Came to the round robin bar for a cocktail Friday afternoon and couldn't have been more disappointed in the valet service from start to finish. The entry to the hotel is mobbed and has no structure with tour busses, ubers, lyfts, valet and cabs all sharing the same space. We were motioned to stay in the car, then hustled out as the lead attendant was cursing at a cab driver, while leaning in to our car. We also didn't know if he was yelling at us until the cab driver yelled back. Hilarious in its own right but then he didn't greet us or clarify why we were on site (difference in cost to do 2 hours for drinks / overnight stay.) Upon leaving I handed off the ticket and the gentleman walked away with it, then came back a good 8-10 minutes later asking for a card. At this point the person with the card was inside to use the restroom, and he rolled his eyes, stared at me in silence then finally said he couldn't get the car until we paid. Which I understand, there needs to be payment for services rendered, it just was not not a great experience. If that's what stands between me getting in for a stay or a meal, it's not worth it to return.

Could not have been nicer! Group rate was very reasonable. Hope all future meetings are booked at the Willard. Top notch in every category. Room was newly renovated, clean, quiet, beautifully appointed. Service and staff were warmer and more helpful than I've seen in Washington in a VERY long time. Cafe attached to hotel, not as up to standard. The Occidental next door was a wonderful restaurant, though. All in all The Willard has stepped up their game. I hope they continue to meet these high standards

Room Tip: 5th floor just reopened after renovation...could not have been nicer! Group rate was very reasonable. Hope all future meetings are booked at the Willard. Top notch in every category

Everything was perfect except...the alarm went off during the night. Confused about shutting it and hard to fall back asleep. Good night's sleep gone and the bed was very nice. Too bad. Unfortunate but really the only thing that went wrong.

Room Tip: the radio alarm went off during the night. Maybe checking radios and clearing alarm settings between guests would eliminate the disturbance of a peaceful night's sleep
