This is a great place to hike! There are numerous trails that you can hike! There are hike that are easy and there are hikes that are difficult! If it is going to be hot make sure you go in the AM and bring water!!

Our family from out of state, who like to hike, went up the mountain and enjoyed the scenery all the way to the top.. They enjoyed the hike as we went earlier in the day before heat was an issue..

Easy access, near Mesa and Apache Jtn. Several routes for short hikes. You get a workout. Lots of people around, so doesn't feel remote. Botanical garden is very informative
Want to take a snack and go watch sunset soon.

My wife and I are able bodied seniors and wanted to see what was silly about Silly Mountain.
We enjoyed the short easy flat walk along botanical trail. The trail had identification markers near various native plants.
We noticed as we walked higher, the trail got more rugged and the mountain rocks got larger.
I did locate the old abandoned mine near the very top of the mountain peak, the sight enhanced by binoculars. Man, I wanted trudge up there, enter it and snoop around.
The only silly thing I saw about the mountain is that it appears to be a huge pile of broken up rocks.
Some rocks had lines that appeared as tree year lines seen in cross section. Some have dark areas on rock that appear as burned scorch marks.
Well, next time we go, we will huff and puff on the Huff and Puff trail, then hike to the top!

Several trails, a couple more vertical than the others. No gear required - other than water, a hat and good shoes. Do NOT try this in the summer or heat of the day! It's easy going, but in the intense heat and sunshine, you could suffer. Go early morning, or Fall-Winter. Enjoy a walk in the park.
