Something a bit different, with lots of character. The owners went out of their way to make our stay a very comfortable one. They even provided our 2 year old with an Easter egg! Highly recommended if you want to avoid the homogeneous hotel experience.

Our stay was in an original Craftsman home built in 1910 by Dr. George Cooper. The best part is that it's located in a small historic town that is only a block from this home. The hosts have kept it's originality in tack, accessorizing with same period style furniture. Our hosts, Tey and Rob, were very accommodating during our stay, and it was such a pleasure getting to know them. Tey presented a delicious breakfast every morning, and with a warming fireplace and wine in the evening, it was quite a comfortable stay.

Room Tip: 3 rooms to choose from, we chose the Chardonnay room for the king bed, other rooms were quite charming, with their own private sitting room.

Well located - a very short walk to main street, but far enough from busy highway 49 to keep the rooms quiet. Great mattresses, spotlessly clean and charming decor. Very very good hot breakfasts, beautifully served with fresh fruit - not your usual buffet selection. The house is historic and the baths are in the hallway, which might bother some guests, but fluffy robes are provided. The entrance garden is charming and well tended. Parking is on a very narrow lane. The room rate is high, but reasonable when you consider that a full breakfast and evening wine are included in the price.

Every year we rent The Murphys House which is located right on Main Street in the darling town of Murphys. We love the spacious home which is huge and perfect for hosting lots of family and friends. We entertain there often and its worth every penny to be right in the hub of town on Main Street.. We are a short walk to great food, breakfast, wine tasting, live music and shopping.. Our family and friends love it there. The kitchen is very large and outfitted for entertaining.

The owners always have everything clean and ready for us with plenty of fresh towels and amenities. Recently they re-did the side patio and its beautiful! Located right along the creek, they added lots of seating, a hammock, great lighting and a gas fire pit. This last trip we sat on the patio almost the entire weekend with our friends and family sharing wine we had purchased at one of the downtown wineries. It was amazing..

This converted 100+ year old home was great - and at least one suite has a second bed that worked well for our 10 year old son. He declared that this was the best hotel that he had ever stayed at. We liked it also - but you have to have reasonable expectations for an old building like this such as your private bathroom being down the hall. A few minute walk to main street. The owners were very nice and helpful, and they prepared a good breakfast. Complimentary snacks and wine. We will certainly stay there the next time we overnight in Angels Camp.
