We were greeted with a sign congratulating our son for finishing high school and some local Belizean drinks! While we were touring the grounds our bags were taken to our suite - where we found fresh flowers, fresh sweet treats, "congratulations" spelled out on our son's bed, complimentary beverages for mixing local drinks, prepaid local cell phone, and the best staff any resort has ever seen. Everyone was friendly, helpful, and a joy to be around. They had daily activities (smores, painting, yoga, free happy hour), access to complimentary bikes, kayaks, and SUPs, along with golf-cart rentals to tour the island. This was THE CLEANEST and best kept place on the island. Sea grass tends to be a problem there - but not at this resort. If you go to Ambergris Caye, this is the best place to stay!!

Room Tip: ocean view suite - has two bedrooms, two bathrooms, kitchen, den, balcony, washing machine - everything you could ever want!!

This resort is lovely. The grounds are cared for meticulously and the hospitality is second to none. Each room is a suite. My family of 4 had 2 bedrooms, full kitchen, and 2 master bathrooms, a huge living room and a washer and dryer. The balcony overlooking the pool and ocean is gigantic. The owners of this property (The Kanabar Family) award full high school scholarships to employee’s children because they value education so much. You can see how much the staff is appreciated and valued here. That is an important element when looking for a place to stay. Breakfast at Red Ginger was excellent but we were disappointed not to see Oatmeal on the menu. We did not eat dinner there because we are vegetarian and we found better places on the island for our dietary needs.

The Phoenix is a beautiful place located in
San Pedro town. Even though it's located in town, it doesn't feel like it, with the privacy of the resort. They have everything thing you need, yoga classes, painting, happy hours to go along with the pools and a fantastic restaurant. You can walk to all of the other great restaurants that are located in town, from the resort. It's just a wonderful place to relax and take in all of what Ambergris Caye offers.

We just returned from a 2 week stay at The Phoenix, our oasis in San Pedro. The Phoenix is located in the center but giving their location it is quite and relaxed without the sometimes overwhelming sounds of the golf charts. The garden is lovely, and maintained on a daily basis. The swimming pools have a nice view over the ocean, more than sufficient sun beds and umbrellas. The pool service is excellent and the daily fruit snacks or donuts are a nice gesture. Towels and sun bed covers are placed by the pool staff. Pool menu is great with a variety of snacks, meals, salads and cocktails. The 2 bedroom apartments are very spacious, nice kitchen, large fridge, drinking water is provided free of charge as well as a nice bottle of Belizean Rum to mix your own cocktail. The apartments have a large balcony with dining table and sun beds. Housekeeping cleans the apartment 2 x a day, refreshing towels etc. The staff of the Phoenix is great, from housekeeping, maintance, garden, pool staff , reception, spa and restaurant every one has a smile, and is genuinely interested in your stay, your activities and always there for assistance when needed. The staff of the reception pre booked our flights with Tropic Air and arranged for a half day reef fishing with one of the local fishing man, Oliver Stuart. We enjoyed this trip very much, catching snappers, Oliver new exactly where to go. the restaurant Red Ginger prepared our catch Belizean style.

Amazing service, flawless room, great security, overall had such a great time. Has 2 pools, doesn't have a beach due to the seagrass, but was fine and gave us easy access to other restaurants along the shore. They gave great recommendations and helped us out with whatever we needed. Truly great customer service.
