We were met at our water taxi...which was great (not the water taxi..those are death traps take a flight to the island). We were taken by golf cart to the condo, Paul showed us the condo, told us that there was no office & that if we needed anything to look for him. This was a little odd. We had no idea if there was a cleaning service or who to contact if we had issues and could not find him. Turns out we did have a few issues. The remote controls did not work, the plumbing in the shower would scream at us and we would have liked some information on the area with it being our first time on the island. The second day a maid showed up, which was unexpected and nice. She showed me how to program the remotes, which had to do daily and told us about the laundry service. Then overall the condition of the villas were in need of general repair. Things like our front door knob was loose and needed to be tightened, the screen in the front window just fell out. They were all things in the states that would simply be fixed. If you are looking for a less expensive place and you know the island...this place would be fine. If you are looking for a place with good service that is in good repair look elsewhere. We will be trying another place next time...oh & we will be getting a golf cart. It is hard to see the entire island without one.

Stayed here for a week. Very happy with the service and location. Loved how you could walk right out onto the sand through the gate past the pool.

Our unit was dated but charming in a simple way. I did notice some hair and other things that were not cleaned up before we arrived.

My only real complaint is that the water pumps are terribly loud. We stayed in 16 downstairs and we could not sleep past 5 am due to the blaring sucking noise of the building pump outside the master bedroom. We moved into the living room Murphy bed for the rest of the week. It wasn't as comfortable but was more quiet. Our neighbors said they could hear it too.

Ask which unit you are getting and you should be fine. It is possible the upstairs units do not experience the same noise.

We rented the 1 bedroom downstairs Unit 20A from Nellies Property Mgmt - nellie@btl.net - the second time for our honeymoon. We like the "nonresort" location, feels like we are locals. There are two grocery stores near the entrance (check out the BBQ on Sunday outside the grocery - $4 US per plate, yum), and all of the restaurants and watersports are within walking distance by road or by beach. We rented a golfcart from Chollos for part of the time - location right behind the Fire Station. We also took a sunset sail on the LadyLeslie Catamaran ladylesliebelize.com which was docked right by our pier - Martin Leslie, our captain and gracious host. The condo is moderate sized, shower only, lots of towels including beach towels, wonderful porch with view of pool, garden and water, internet and cable, daily maid service, airport pick up/return and Nellie's offers next day laundry pick up/delivery (US$4 for 3 pieces). We love the barefoot experience of San Pedro and prefer having a sitting area and kitchen rather than full service resort, so this is a slam dunk for us.

We stayed in condominiums which offered us freedom to cook when we wanted and eat out when we didn't. The kitchen was well stocked for cooking and clean. The rest of the condo was nicely decorated and comfortable. We had maid service every day which was nice, but not necessarily needed. Looking out over the ocean while sitting around the pool is like sitting in a tropical paradise. The children loved nothing more than swimming in the pool. The coconut and palm trees swaying in the gentle breeze and the lush landscape in the courtyard of the condos make it easy to forget that you are in the heart of the city of San Pedro. Being in the heart of the town is nice though, easy for walking to shops, restaurants and other attractions in the area. Liked best? The setting. Liked least? Nada.

Before I start I would say that the hotel location is very good and by and large the staff were friendly. BUT, the rooms were old, dated, dark, I found the beds uncomfortable and the room wasn't properly clean. This included the plates and cultery. I was also kept awake by noisy neighbours throughout the few days I was there and had problems with my internet connection.

For $109 per night I expected so much more...there are plenty of other developments around San Pedro - my advise to everyone is not to stay here.
