I would definitely stay at this resort again!

4.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed 3 weeks ago
Vacationing in Belize was the first time for my friend and I. We came with the intent to scuba dive.

Absolutely love this resort, our room (Vista Suite), the service, the breakfast (Sea Salt Restaurant), the gym and the K'In Spa and Wellness Center. This resort is new and modern, located close to town and the airport. There is free shuttle service back and forth to and from the airport (prearranged with resort front desk). Our check-in was easy. All the employees were very nice and helpful. Our suite was beautiful and clean with a fantastic covered patio seating area. Though we did not use housekeeping, when we asked for extra bath towel and water and was delivered immediately. We had a fully equip kitchen. If I had planned better, I would have bought coffee, eggs, bread and bacon for breakfast. We went to the Marine Market (next to the hotel) where we stocked up on some wine, liquor, beer and snacks. You get around the island via gas golf carts that you can rent from the hotel or an outside company.

The dive company (Belize Pro Dive Center) is located on the hotel grounds. We prearranged dives throughout our 9 day stay. Unfortunately the entire week we were there, the diving was canceled due to high winds. We took advantage of the well equipped gym and the spa.

My friend and I only ate breakfast 2 time along with 1 dinner at the resort. Breakfast was good but the Vista Roof was disappointing. We love to explore and ate the majority of our meals at the local restaurants which were fantastic.

So my only complaint I had was the constructing of the new sea wall (Starting on May 1st to November 1st, 2024). My friend and I had made these reservations far in advance. Way before the notification showed up on the web site that they would be doing work, after the fact. Our suite was on the 2nd floor facing the pool. If you were on the ground level or had a beach villa you would of been listening to the bulldozer and truck work on the sea wall along with picking up all the sargassum that piles up on land. They were working early morning till evening everyday we were there except for Sunday. The smell of the diesel was also extremely nauseating with the high winds. The pool was gorgeous with plenty of seating, poolside service, but the smell made me have headaches.

If you don’t care about smell, location of room, or little to no beach access, then it shouldn't bother you,

So my takeaway is I would definitely stay at this resort again, the exact suite on the 2nd floor or higher facing the pool. In addition, I would make sure they are finished dredging the sea wall and the sargassum is not as prevalent.

We loved our stay here! Everyone was so nice and the resort was top notch. Eric was always so friendly and helpful. We chose to do the All-Inclusive and it was well worth it. It was a perfect anniversary trip. We will definitely be returning! :)

This location is very beautiful but the staff specifically the females were so rude. The front desk didn’t want to help us with an issue we had , they basically didn’t care and we uninterested about the issue. And when we call to see if they can help us book an excursion she boldly and rudely said “NO” and when we asked why she said because she “can’”. The staff here feel entitled , they need to have more staff that would kindly and respectfully represent the hotel and island in a way that tourists would remember in a positive ways and would love to return. If I come again I definitely won’t stay here.

We flew into Belize International then connected with Maya Island Air for the short hop to San Pedro. If you abide by Maya’s times to connect coming and going you should have no problems. Easy transition at the airport and the flight in the Cessna Caravan was fun all by itself. Escorted to a taxi under contract with Alaia, 15 minutes later we were checking in.
The resort is fantastic. Our first room had a bit of mold smell. I’m the only one in the family that was bothered by it. The front desk moved us almost immediately, problem solved. The pools are amazing and the food, wow! There seems to be a cafe and restaurant at every turn on the resort, from poolside to the upstairs sushi bar for sunset. Everything from pizza to regional cuisine.
You will have to force yourself off the resort to try some of the local establishments. The Bakery for rolls, panini and coffee just a block away to several restaurants within walking distance, even more if you rent a golf cart.
We did two scuba diving trips and a snorkel trip with the resorts dive shop, Belize Pro Dive Center. Another amazing experience. Their gear is top notch as well as the tour guides that will optimize your dive experience based on local conditions.
Most importantly for me was how nice the resort folks are. Everybody went out of their way to make us feel welcome. Eric, you were truly amazing, from dragging our bags to tips on dining. Truly a genuine and descent person. Everyone made the trip that much more enjoyable.
While we were there it looked like the seawall was just being finished and the seaweed scooped out of the beach area, so that will be a bonus.
Definitely worth a return visit.

Marie and Adriane in Food and Beverage made our visit the best. They were friendly and efficient. Without those two, our vacation would have been a completely different experience. It was a pleasure to see their faces every morning. Adriane was able to turn a bad situation into a fantastic event.

Room tip: Remember, if you don't dive or fish, the only other thing to do is to lay in the sun. It's a very interesting place.
