We stayed here for five nights using points and had a very nice experience. This is not the type of hotel I can normally stay at so the experience was quite a treat. Special acknowledgement to Elvis, Elvis and Gonzalvo at the front desk area and Sergio and Edwin at the "quiet pool" bar area.
All the staff at the Dive Shop were also wonderful. We did the half day trip to Hol Chan and had a great experience. Very professional and calm crew, they made the trip a breeze!

We had a 1br King ocean view room in the vista tower - totally worth the upgrade from the studio we originally booked… we used the terrace far more than expected and it really enhanced our visit. The resort is beautiful and offers several different experiences, depending on which pool you go to. The dining options are phenomenal, far superior to normal hotel food.
The thing that really makes this resort that was the people, literally every single person you dealt with was friendly, professional and skilled at their job. Some of the employees we had the good fortune to work with were Ociel our waiter who took great care in ensuring we were taken care of, Maria our waitress at our last night who really made it magical.
Lizbeth who held more than one post and was friendly and helpful at all of them, and
Gonzalo, our wonderful porter who started and ended our trip with a smile and the best energy you could ask for on vacation.
We will definitely be back.

I recently stayed at The Alaia Belize with a group of friends. It was a total of 12 of us. We truly enjoyed our villas and the beautiful property. The staff was AMAZING!! From the front desk- Stacey, Jolene, Blanca, Celina, Elvis, Eric and Gonzalo made the check in process seamless process. They were always so helpful in answering any questions I had about things to do in San Pedro and on property. The Concierge manager was very nice too, I think her name was Ms. Tish and Lillian (supervisor)The breakfast staff Maria, Jayden and Aleysi greeted me by name everyday! And the menu and buffet offered a great variety! Then the awesome staff at the Terrace Bar, Shakira, Brian, Josue, Raziel, Chef Sheena were also very pleasant and made sure to address me by name with warm smiles. The drinks by the poolside were delicious too! I met a very nice housekeeper by the name of Verginia and she made sure our villa was ready for us on arrival! Rolando issued towels by the main pool daily with a kind word and smile daily. My stay there was nothing short of amazing! I almost forgot Chef Alex whose presence was everywhere. He served small bites to our group on our very first day, offered to take our group picture. We had dinner at Sea Salt one evening and it was delicious. There was live entertainment that evening that we enjoyed immensely! This property is DEFINITELY deserves FOUR stars!! Thanks to the entire staff!!! I highly recommend the Alaia!

Room tip: It's much faster to hop on the plane to San Pedro from the main airport . The ferry was over an hour to get there and it further away

Would highly recommend this resort, and this island. Our family of four, kids 11 and 13, had a spectacular visit. I had read many reviews and some cautions on the hotel, but didn’t find much truth to any of the negativity. We experienced an incredibly helpful and friendly staff throughout the entire property. Everyone was so outgoing and happy to see us each day. We rented one of the beach cottages, three bedrooms, and it was perfect for our family. Plenty of room, very comfortable, and away from the more “party vibe” of the main pool (which was in no way intrusive - we NEVER heard noise - but there is a difference between main hotel and beach houses). There was construction on the beach, but it didn’t interfere with any of our vacation. There really isn’t much of a beach here to begin with (really anywhere in this immediate area) - you have the pool, but we found that to really experience the island, you need to get on the water and move about. We rented a golf cart one day and took it to Secret beach, and then meandered our way back to the hotel, “Truck Stop” for food and drinks, which was super cool, and then in town for some shopping, and a trip down the water slide in the center of town. The golf cart was easy and convenient, and traveling at off times, 10 AM through about 5 PM, it was a relatively quick and easy trip. Having the dive shop right on property is a true luxury. They were absolutely wonderful. We did two snorkel trips, and two dives, and a highlight was the beach BBQ and fishing trip. We saw so much marine life, nature, and just had a blast. The guides are incredible. Palapa bar after a snorkel in the morning is pretty much a perfect day - hit the water, lunch and a swim and more snorkeling at Palapa - and then walk to town for dinner at Elvi’s or Caramba. Amazing.
The hotel was new, clean, convenient, and had restaurants on site that were perfectly good. The sushi on the rooftop is not the absolute best sushi I’ve ever had, but snack plates are fantastic, and you cannot beat the view and the service! We did walk to a quick breakfast most mornings at The Baker (cash only!! Definitely worth bringing a stack of small American dollar bills - tips, breakfasts, taxis - it goes fast), which is right across from the grocery store, no more than a two minute walk. Lunch is easy and convenient around the main pool - there are two restaurants - both great.
Really this is one of the best vacations we have taken as a family, and we will definitely be back! The Alaia, in my opinion, is truly one of the best places to call home while you were there and exploring. The only possible opportunity for improvement that I found was the hotel gym? Not a concern for everyone! But for me, I do like to work out on vacation, and it was relatively small so got crowded quickly. Other than that, near perfection.

My husband and I stayed here for 4 nights last week. The service was great! Tricia was all over the resort making sure people were happy. Alex the chef was also around to help with anything, once we walked to the towel place and no one was there and he ran over to help us!
Get a SUITE! The balcony is where I spent every morning and every night. It's huge with a comfy couch to relax. There's a grocery store about 2 blocks away where we got cold brew coffee, eggs, bagels, and Gatorades to make our own breakfast.
When you land at the Belize airport stop at duty free for any beverages you want, it's saves you a lot. Then bring a yeti to make your own drinks.
We went to the dive shop attached to the resort for easy snorkeling which was cheaper than other options. Awesome experience we saw a manatee, sharks, sting rays, etc.
Last-join Facebook groups to get more tips on what to do. That helped us with so many ideas!

Best hotel in Belize.
Hotel is new and beautiful, the pool area is very nice, and the staff is amazing.
They’ve had a few issues with the beach being overwhelmed with seagrass, which makes it hard to do much on the beach itself, but it really doesn’t matter because the pool area is so nice.
In addition, there are a variety of aquatic activities available including diving, snorkeling, jet skis, etc. attached to the resort.
Again, the staff is the real gem at the Alaia, and we had a great experience with Albert and Maris at poolside, and Michelle from housekeeping.
And of course, Mr. Eric Mendez was fantastic. We met Eric as we first came into the resort and he took care of us every day after that. He’s a real credit to the resort.
