This lodge with Casita rooms is so beautiful with Thatched roofs and a beautiful hilltop setting. It is all beautifully constructed and decorated with local hard woods and landscaped with all native coconuts and beautiful flowering plants. Ricky, Ronnie, Grace and Alice all make you feel so at home in this Balizian wonderland. Ricky and Ronnie will guide and set-up day trips and transfers for us each day at our whim. Grace and Alice delight your pallet with amazing breakfasts to start our day. It is located a mile outside of San Ignacio so a taxi is required for a town visit. We found it so easy to catch a ride into town with our hosts and then get an easy ride back to the inn with a taxi downtown (very small town) for $3.50 USD), affordable! We were very happy with our experience here and will recommend it to anyone who is travelling here, Thank you Ricky!
Ricky set us up for several requested trips. We visited Barton Creek with Ronnie, We visited Tikal with Hennie as our Gautamalean guide, we Kayaked on the Macal river with Dobb. We had a transfer to the Belize city for the airport with Ronnie. All trips were truly memorable.

Room Tip: Hummingbird was great!

We have stayed only 2 nights but we absolutely loved the place. Ground is beautifully kept and rooms comfortable and specious. Delicious fresh breakfast served at chosen time. But what made this place special were people met and the way they went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable. Especially Ricky who is managing the property is extremely nice and helpful, he helped us organise all trips and gave us great tips about town restaurants and even a lift to the town centre couple of times. Trips recommended and guided by his son were all very interesting and exceeded our expectations. We highly recommend the place to anybody else.

Nicely tucked away just outside of town in San Ignacio. Only a few minute drive, $5 Belizian for a taxi. Beautiful grounds and facilities. The staff was the best part of our stay. Ricky, the caretaker and Grace, the chef, were both fantastic! We will definitely go back to San Ignacio and can't think of a better place to stay when we do!

Room Tip: All the rooms are fantastic! The views are the same from each.

I was traveling alone with no idea of where to be or go. I happened upon Casa del Caballo Blonco online and made a quick and inspired decision! Gorgeous site, a beautiful and well appointed room with a beautiful, high, and perfectly thatched roof. Romantic even alone! Breakfast was delicious, only out done by Alison's gracious service. I arranged a day tour with Ronnell. The day with him was not only excellent, but more than I could have expected or hoped for! He is through, well informed, knowledgeable and passionate about the his surroundings and its history. All that and a thoughtful, careful, courteous and engaging guide. His personal tour of El Pilar and Barton Creek Cave were highlights of my Belize adventure. Thank you, All! " Ms." Pat

We loved our stay here! The land is beautiful and there are many types of birds in the area. It's just beautiful. This is not a resort and there is no TV or pool. We rented a car so the fact it was a few miles out of town was not an issue. Perfect loco for getting to the ATM cave tour meeting spot. There is no air conditioning and the wood blinds and windows are open through the night to keep cool. Mosquito net is provided but we didn't need it. There are lizards/geckos everywhere that eat the bugs and they do end up in your room from time to time. It was 85 during the day but cool in the morning at 61. You wake up to mist and lots of bird noise. It was awesome! They do not provide hair products so you need to bring your own. There are several small markets nearby. Ricky runs the place and will assist you with questions and tour inquiries. Grace was our wonderful chef that made our breakfast each day and then would come out to our table and talk about the meal. One morning we had stewed pumpkin so she brought out the squash to show us what it looked like. You also get get bacon or ham, plantains, etc. Grace also assisted us with tips on the things we were doing that day and also recommended other things to do. Wonderful people here! Can't say enough great things!

Good Day Ms Carla,
We truly appreciate your words of praise. Casa del Caballo Blanco was established to provide a peaceful respite from the day's adventures, where the serenity of the location and the beauty provided the traveler quiet moments for reflection - much in the manner of a borderlands hacienda. Your review truly describes and captures the experience that we strive to provide each visitor to Casa. Thank you so much for your visit and for taking your time to write this lengthy review.
