Three years ago I went there with my family and we have to mucho fun! The hotel was beautiful located in a perfect place, with amazing views preety animals, and the people that works there is very friendly and intelligent the waiter in the restaurant know more than three lenguages, we were very surprised because the beautiful lake is a tourist destination very quoted. The pool was very big and the water was a little cold but is beautiful the pool form. In the night with my dad we could observe many insects and animals like scorpions, frogs and many beautiful animals. That night there was a station of games where we decide ongly to to ping pong that was very interesting and funny it was my first time and I get very well the game. The location is perfect because the lake is in front you can watch every were and is beautiful the culture that you can find beautiful places including beautiful people

To be honest, we stayed for three nights at a different hotel in the area. It was small with 12 rooms. We wanted to extend our trip by a day, which meant 12/30/17. Needless to say, the hotel was booked for New Years. So we called Hotel La Riviera Atitlan and they had a room. This is a huge place with a pool, a jacuzzi, a small private beach on the lake and all the amenities of a resort. It is the type of place we would stay when our daughter was younger. They probably even had a kids club.

Hotel La Riviera de Atitlan was very nice. Although we booked ourselves into a privately owned apartment housed on the property, the hotel staff were still very helpful even though we were not necessarily "hotel guests". The view was immaculate from out 7th Floor 2Br 2Ba Apartment. The hotel helped us arrange shuttle to Guate Airport. My only advice to other guests is to pay attention to whether you are booking with the Hotel or one of the apartment owners. Our apartment owner sent us confirmation and coordinated our arrival.

We found this hotel on Trip Advisor and booked through Travelocity. We traveled all the way from the US to the Guatemalan jungle and the hotel said they did not have our reservation because THEY DO NOT WORK WITH TRAVELOCITY! The Manager refused to help us at all and said that if we wanted to stay we would have to pay them directly, at double the rate and the place was totally empty. They wouldn't even give us the internet code when our cell phones would not work there. He said, "that is for Hotel guests only." Really?

The location is remote, dangerous and the Hotel looks very old. It is away from the town and no Tuk Tuks go there. They are frequently at every other hotel. Definitely a blessing we didn't stay there.

We had to start our vacation looking for a hotel. Very dangerous in this remote area of Guatemala. FOR YOUR SAFETY, BEWARE OF TRAVELOCITY and this HOTEL.

Excelent opinion, be careful of what you see check over internet, we are 3 builings, and only 2 of them as managed as hotel, the other are owened apartment, and usually the persons who owe them use the name of the hotel to book strangers in their own apartments. Take care, and see if you are really booking at Hotel La Riviera de Atitlán.
