This tour by happy fish included several hours to enjoy this beach and gently lapping waves in shallow water at Playa Blanca. The people there were friendly and the coconut was fresh and delicious Tables, chairs, shade and hammocks abound for a modest entrance fee of Q20. This included clean restrooms.
Playa Blanca has beautiful calm water and it is the perfect temperature. Additionally the sand is really soft. Having said this, playa Blanca is a paid beach and there is only one small drink bar! So you MUST bring your own lunch if you want to enjoy and bring your own book or magazine because you have to take a boat to get there and they just wait for you to swim for three hours but you can't enjoy it on an empty stomach so take treats!!!! And enjoy.
Definitely not a snorkeling site. The fishermen drag up all of the mud by fishing for shrimp so...the water is a bit muddy.
We took a boat through a tourist agency to the beach. You have to pay to use the beach as well (maybe 20 quetzales). Beach is long and open, and only tourists go to it. If you want a beach day, come here because most of the public beaches are covered in trash. To save money, bring your own drinks and snacks.
The beach itself is beautiful with pleny of area to set your chairs. The place has some chairs, tables and hammocks of its own and the locals there will sell you some snacks and coco loco.
This place is 15 minutes via boat from Livingston and that is how you can imagine the Caribbean sea.
Wonderful palms with nice and warm water. We spend some really nice hours there.
The beach itself is not that big, maybe several 100 meters only. But the sand is nice and white.
But keep in mind, there is nothing you can do there besides relaxing ;-)
The boat ride to Playa Blanca was choppy and long. I was grateful of the life vests and silently prayed no one in our party would fall out of the boat. Come to Playa Blanca and you'll start believing in God and all his angels again.
First of all, I admit, I am super picky. The beach was nice. White sand, hammocks and some beach chairs were available for you to sit and relax. If you find a vacant one. There is a dinky little shop were you can buy over priced food and drinks but hey, count your blessings, you're in the middle of nowhere. The water had a whole bunch of different sized pieces of drift wood. Gave off the impression as if the water was dirty. It feels like stuff is touching your legs. Couldn't handle it. Sorry. Nice view though :)
