The Utila Dreamer Beach house provided a wonderful vacation for our family of 3 for 9 days (1 teen, 2 adults). Utila is where to go if you want to unplug from the daily grind and be in a relaxed, slow, low key beautiful place. There is no internet or TV, who needs them when you have the beach at your doorstep, and a reef to explore off your dock. This house is great for those that like to be away from touristy-resort areas, and if you are an independent, and self-sufficient traveler. There is AC in bedrooms but otherwise the house is cooled via ocean breezes. The kitchen is very well stocked, including spices, etc. You will be cooking most of your meals. There is only 1 restaurant on the cay across the way and you can only sea kayak or take a water taxi over during the day, as you cannot be out on the boats after dark. Make sure you bring cash, this was one thing we were not warned about. No businesses on the keys take credit cards, you have to go into Utila main town (20 min boat ride) to get an ATM or businesses that take cards. Shops and restaurant near house all only take cash. Utila is a dive and snorkel mecca and those are the primary activities other than just relaxing on the deck with a good book. Utila Cays Dive Shop was awesome to work with and they can help with snorkeling trips too. Several locals provide water taxi boat trips to other keys in the area for day trips or trips into the ,main town. Anke the property mgr was great to work with, and there is a property caretaker who lives downstairs for any immediate help or needs. We would highly recommend this property for anyone that this description sounds like a good fit for. The views and sunsets are amazing everyday!!
Our time at the Utila Dreamer was surreal. Prime location. A short kayak or boat ride across from the Cays where you can enjoy a beer or meal at one of their small bars, check out various scuba diving opportunities, or just walk between the colorful houses getting to know the friendly locals and tourists of the Cays. 30minute boat ride from the more lively Utila town. There you can also gather food to cook at the Dreamer, drinks, etc . As for the Dreamer house itself...incredible. Relax over the water on the brand new dock or escape the sand flies on their beautiful screened in porch. Full, lovely, well stocked kitchen. Skillfully renovated bathrooms and cozy beds. The whole house is decorated with so much tropical charm! If you don't leave the Dreamer the whole trip you will still have an amazing time. You can snorkel right in front of the house and stroll along the beach. Don't let the fact the house is only accessible by boat scare you away...the owners are fantastic, will help you set up all transportation, and answer any questions you have. They are very settled in the community and have many connections to make your stay easy and enjoyable. Highly recommend!

This place is just....breathtaking. You really dont have conciousness of the paradise you're booking. Besides being incredibly beautiful. Anke and her husband Alex are super helpful and fun to be around. The house is fully equiped, with everything you may need and so much more. It's beautiful. Really. It's an A list destination, your private pier is really cool to lounge at night listening to the waves. We are DEFINETELY coming back!
