Sadly, I came to the Hyatt Place Augusta while running away from Hurricane Irma. Our room had two bedrooms and view to parking lot. Room was comfortable in size and it has a small living room with a sectional sofa bed, nice looking and apparently a new place. The HPlace Augusta has a small pool and a deck with fire pits that looked lovely at night. During our stay, most of the staff were friendly, however, our room trash was not pick up for three day, our toilet ran with the same luck. I had to go to the hallway to get someone to pick up the trash and clean the toilet. And, oh, come a very crowded breakfast time, the doors were closed in our face a couple of times because it was 5 minutes before breakfast time was over! mind you, it was a buffet-style breakfast and there was food in the chafing dishes, still. Rude. It was not like all of those patrons stayed in for lunch either...most went out and brought their takeout food into the hotel, but not us, we were true patrons to this place. The HPlace advertised gorgeous pictures for their meals, yet reality kicked hard the few times we ate there, unsightly meals (breakfast) or reduced versions of what one can see in the pictures. Customer Service: The guy at the bar was pretty special, with or without a place full of patrons...he is just rude...one night after waiting about 20 minutes for him to ask what would I like to eat, I dared to say as he was flying by "excuse me..." and he interrupted me looking very annoyed, saying "I'm very busy!!" as if I was not a customer worth serving anything. The next night, he ignored us again, even though there were only two tables occupied in the establishment. Discrimination? After 35 minutes waiting for him to approach our table, refresh our only drink or ask our guest whether he needed anything, we just picked up and left to eat somewhere else. Green-eyed rude dude with attitude...he was willing to take the tips without even caring to provide the service to patrons who were already in a stressful situation. Fortunately, there are plenty of good restaurants away from this uncompassionate place but you'll have to drive quite a bit to find them. Caution. Hyatt Place Augusta: innefficient, nothing around, not pocket friendly, not that good and rude people work for you. Guest: Stay there if just for a short stay if you must, some of the staff are genuinely nice (front desk, cleaning staff), but know you'll find smiling faces mistreating guest, lacking the basic skills for good hosts (breakfast nazi and drama diva behind bar). I'm not coming back.
