North Shore is a place you go to watch and then go get shave ice from Matsumoto's even if the line is out the door and through the parking lot.

Visited the North Shore of Oahu last week. It was by far one of the most beautiful places I have ever been in my 50+ years of traveling. The diversity of beaches, restaurants, surfing spots, hiking trails, and any other outdoor activity you can think of in a beautiful surrounding is right at your footsteps. Get up in the morning put on your shorts and T-shirt and sandals and you’re done for the day.!

If you are taking a trip to the Island of Oahu, you must head down to the North Shore. Great surf, great shops, lots of food, and beautiful views. Grab some garlic shrimp while you are there from one of the many food trucks.

We drove North Shore and spot hopped all day. We went to 3-4 beaches, enjoyed the small town eats and shops, and even walked by a giant sea turtle sunning on the sand in a hidden neighborhood stretch of beach. Dole is on the way, so you could spend an hour or so there way up or way back. The fun was making plans as we drove on the fly!

We took a day trip from Kauai to Honolulu to visit Pearl Harbor. Our tickets for the USS Arizona weren't until the afternoon so we rented a car and decided to make the Oahu loop, we specifically wanted to check out the North Shore to see the big ocean waves in Jan! It turned our better than planned!! We stopped by many beaches filled with surfers and photographers and even came upon a surf competition - it was so awesome and absolutely gorgeous!!! Highly recommend this side of Oahu!
