We spent two nights there over Thanksgiving and can highly recommend this riad, which is coming at an incredibly reasonable rate. Guests should be aware that this gorgeous property might not be suitable for young children or seniors, since like all riads, it has many steps and low level windows and balconies. It is also a place where low lighting and moisture in the air could bother some travellers.
The owners are endlessly patient and helpful. They are both experts about Fès and any advice they give should be followed. The riad itself provides an elegant atmosphere with its blend of splendid French and Moroccan antique furnitures and curiosa. A gas heater provides ample heat in the courtyard and spaces heaters are provided in the bedrooms. Beds are firm and beautifully drapped with embroided French linen beddings and thick blankets keep guests warm at night. The owners are attentive to every detail and served an excellent 4 course dinner. We enjoyed the sunny roof terraces, which provide stunning views over the medina and the mountains. It was a pleasure to meet Christopher and Vincent and we had interesting chats about Morrocan issues and the general election as well as lighter subjects such as shopping or discovering the country!

I can't say enough good things about Riad Boujloud in Fes. My husband and my parents and I stayed at this charming riad for 3 nights at the end of October. Vincent and Christophe are the owners and helped to make our experience in Fes one of the most enjoyable and truly memorable trips we've ever had. They have created a most warm and inviting home atmosphere and you feel as if you become part of their Moroccan family while you are there. They go out of their way to make sure all of your questions are answered and that all of your needs are met, thus ensuring a relaxing and safe adventure in Fes. The riad is ideally located in the Medina, is very clean, the breakfast is delicious and the ambiance is perfect. On our last night there, we had dinner at the riad. Fatima cooked us a delicious meal of tangine chicken and Moroccan salads. You would definitely be missing out if you don't have the opportunity to enjoy one of Fatima's home-cooked meals. Following the meal, Vincent had prepared a delicious apple pie to celebrate my birthday. I could not have asked for a better meal or a better ending to our stay in Fes. Take my advice and stay at Riad Boujloud in Fes. It was a wonderful experience that we will never forget. Thank you Vincent, Christophe and Fatima!

From the moment we were met by Christophe at the entrance to the medina our hosts could not have done more to make our trip a unique experience. Vincent who spoke excellent English explained the quirkiness of the Medina and gave numerous local tips to ensure our stay was enjoyable. Nothing was too much trouble for any of the staff. Fatima and Fatima Zahra provided us every morning with a wonderful breakfast to get the day started. The evening meal was some of the best food we tasted during our trip - you do need to order in advance though.

The rooms were immaculate but simply furnished so if you are after a TV and all mod-cons, this perhaps is not the place for you, however you would be missing out on this superb and friendly place to stay.

The Riad is located in the heart of the Medina and yet manages to offer a tranquil haven from the hustle of bustle of this awesome world heritage site.

Highly recommended.

We stayed for three nights in the Riad. We were met at the gate to the medina (Bab Boujiloud) by the Riad's assistant - you would never find it yourself! On arrival Vincent (one of the owners) sat us down with mint tea and biscuits to provide his tips for Fes which were very helpful. He gave us tips for places to eat which we stuck to during our visit and did not get ill at all and the food was great (apparently there are a lot of dubious eating establishments in Fes).

The Riad is ideally located in the medina and once you get your bearings it is fairly easy to locate. Our room was on the top floor and was very well decorated with lovely antiques which gave us inspiration to buy things for our own house during our stay. The bathroom was huge and very authentic - one thing I would say is that the shower was not very practical as it had no curtain or screen so the water went everywhere! Also our room was entered via the bathroom and because of a gap in the door leading out to the main stairwell we did feel a bit self-concious at times.

The Riad was so quiet it was easy to forget how close you were to the bustle of the souks. It was actually quite difficult to stay so quiet during our stay - the rooms are not glazed but have shutters and all face onto the internal courtyard - you can literally hear everyone else talking, coughing and going to the loo! We spent three days whispering to each other and avoiding going to the toilet! That is the only aspect I would change about the Riad - put some glazing in the room windows for privacy reasons.

The breakfast was really lovely and prepared by friendly Fatima who was always smiling and singing as she worked. The fruit salad was beautiful and the pancakes were gorgeous. For two days we ate on the terrace but when the weather wasn't so good we sat in the internal courtyard instead. We ate at the Riad one evening and the food was so good (cooked by the other Fatima!) we thought we would explode afterwards from eating so much! It was good value and the smell permeating the Riad as it cooked during the day let us know that we were in for a treat.

We slept so well in the Riad because it was so quiet and would highly recommend Riad Boujloud as an oasis of calm which was worth the 70 Euros per night we paid.

Room Tip: Make sure you get a room on the top floor

We stayed at Riad Boujloud for two nights around the middle of April, and it was absolutely wonderful--the best of the three riads we stayed in Morocco (the two others were in Marrakech). Vincent, one of the owners, came to meet us at Bab Boujloud (a gate to the medina), showed us where to park, and got us a porter to get our luggage. We had pre-arranged to have dinner at the riad--highly recommended; it was delicious (a soup, a Moroccan salad, chicken tajine, and lemon tart). Breakfasts were also very good (fresh fruit, Moroccan pancakes, bread, preserves, juice, coffee, mint tea)--and they were served at the rooftop terrace, which has wonderful views towards the hills surrounding Fes. The riad is a beautiful old house with original intricate mosaics on the walls and the floor; it has been beautifully restored by Vincent and Christophe. Our bedroom and bathroom were tastefully decorated with antiques and Moroccan textiles. Although the riad is just between the two thoroughfares of the medina, it is quiet, partly because the courtyard itself has been covered with a skylight. (We slept very well.).

I can't say enough how helpful Vincent and Christophe were. We wanted to buy a carpet, and Vincent took us to just the right place. We had to adjust our luggage allowance with Ryanair to take the carpet with us, and Christophe re-printed our boarding passes. They also told us about a wonderful restaurant in the Andalusian quarter (I think that's correct ...), run by a family in their home.--It was the best and most memorable meal we had in the week we spent in Morocco. And when we were planning our drive back to Marrakech, Vincent and Christophe showed us an alternative route and suggested places worth visiting along the way.--I would like to go back to Fes and stay at Riad Boujloud again!

Room Tip: 3 rooms--all are good!
