It's just like all the other touristy restaurants in the Fes medina. Average in every way. It does have a decent view of the blue gate, but despite it being high up, there's virtually no air flow. This makes it super hot and muggy.

There are a lot of steep steps to get to the viewing balcony for lunch or dinner. I was really hoping it was worth the risky climb - but, on balance - it just isn't. The food was mediocre and uninspiring and finding 3 hand-broken Marie-biscuits at the bottom of the yoghurt for desert - didn't inspire confidence in the chef. Neither did the tasteless chunk of beef lying in a hot plum sauce give any sign of what could have been a very tasty tagging. Although not the most expensive of meals - I don't think it was at all "good value". Avoid.

Recommended by a local I had a perfect experience at this lovely restaurant.
An oasis in the crowded Medina this intimate jewel of a restaurant offers terraces with tables overlooking the street. The food was reasonably priced and my dinner was delicious. The service was attentive and the presentation was tasteful and unpretentious. Friendly atmosphere, comfortable, good food, great views and good prices. Everything a traveler desires.

Found this roof top restaurant in a very busy street close to the Blue gate almost by accident as it is so popular it does not need the usual street hustlers. Kitchen is open and busy and there are two steep flights of stairs to reach the roof terrace. But it is worth it as the open windows allow cool breezes. Cuisine is typically Moroccan with tagines, brochettes, couscous etc. Excellent daily menu for 7 EUR which includes a delicious and fresh salad, choice of main courses (try the beef tagine with prunes and the minced meat-kefte- with eggs) followed by fresh fruit and mint tea and one of the best corne de gazelle that I have tasted.

The Harissa soup was okay as was the beef tangine. Service was a little slow. Also had two almond milkshakes which were fine. You can get a view from upstairs terrace which allows you to get away from the street for a few minutes. Prices were reasonable.
