My husband and I have been eating tagines all over Morocco that mostly taste like steamed vegetables. At Le Kasbah the food was seasoned and spiced with so much more nuance. That, coupled with a rooftop terrace, and we were unite happy.

Our local guide recommended it and he was right. We felt like we were eating local style, not tourist style. The lamb tamjine with prunes was the best we had in Morocco. The roof top seating got us nice cool breezes in the hot weather.

We ate here for dinner and it was a terrible experience. The worst is the service: the staff were very arrogant and we had an unpleasant service. Food was not good: we ordered cuscus with chicken and vegetables but we could not ate it as it was not cooked enough. We ended up waiting an hour before having the dessert. Igenic conditions very very poor. toilets are definitely the worst in Few. We ate on the roof terrace where the smell is really bad and we shortly realised there is a place near the tables where they put all the leftover food. Definitely NOT recommend.

Just on entering Fes-el-Bali from the Blue Gate you will face Le Kasbah restaurant on three floors. The service is very quick and the fixed price menu is most economical as it includes everything but water. For starters Moroccan salad with diced tomatoes and onions, main course meat skewers with two side dishes, a typical local dessert of sliced oranges dusted with cinnamon served with coffee. The roof top terrace offers good views to the buzzing life down at the square. The waiter runs up and down the narrow stairs, you pay downstairs at the cashier when leaving.

Excellent classic Friday couscous. Not a tourist trap, mainly Moroccans when we were there. Good value for money.
