We appreciate the enormous repair work done to this old house.

However some small additional touches will make it nicer and more comfortable for guests - e.g. there is not enough lighting in the common area, so it is impossible to read anything there in the evening. Similarly in the bedrooms, there is not enough light for reading.
Bathrooms do not have sufficient air circulation, hence the stagnated smells and damp persist.

Would be nice to have the manager smile more and show genuine friendliness. He is a bit cold and detached.

I was thrilled by the palatial scale of Dar Drissi, an oasis of calm amid the chaos of the medina. Simple, lovely and sensitively restored. Kibir, the manager is a charming man who was a wealth of local knowledge and was always available on his phone, he served us a delicious breakfast each morning. For someone who enjoys a bit of autonomy and relishes an authentic and very comfortable experience I highly recommend this gorgeous and perfectly located Riad. Jeremy

Beautifully restored gem of a boutique hotel in the very heart of the medina. We were looked after very well by the manager who was only too happy to arrange taxis and day trips. Can't recommend it highly enough. Thanks for a great stay.

I can't recommend Dar Drissi highly enough. From the Prince of Persia-esque foyer complete with a water feature and sky-reaching doors fit for a king - to the bedouin tent on the terrace suitable for early evening social drinking, Dar Drissi can only be described as a gem of a guesthouse that completed our wonderful stay in Fez.

Kabir, the manager, met us in the car-park and was extremely enthusiastic about the place. We were taken on a tour of the guesthouse but not after a round of fresh orange juice and/or mint tea. The ensuite bedrooms ensured a comfortable and relaxing stay. WIFI, hot water and a retractable roof (!) ensure Dar Drissi as the perfect place to come back to after a long day walking around the medina or exploring the nearby ancient Roman ruins.

Decorrated with ancient mosaiques and antiques, Dar Drissi is the cave Aladdin wish he initially stumbled across.

I will most definitely be returning. The easiet full marks i've ever given.

My family and I really loved our stay here in the beautiful Dar Drissi. With a perfect location and beautiful setting it really made our trip special. The decor is really picturesque with a typical Moroccan feel complete with a beautiful open roof, a rooftop terrace overlooking the whole of the medina, and a downstairs area centred by a little fountain. The breakfast each morning was lovely and the hotel manager and cleaner really looked after us to make sure we had a comfortable stay. A lovely place to come back to after exploring the wonderful medina of Fez. I can't wait to go back again!

Room Tip: There are a few different styles of rooms to choose from - one of the rooms can hold up to five people which would be perfect for a group of friends or small family, then there are two smaller double rooms, perfect for couples, and a slightly bigger master room which can be two singles or a double.
