Very nicely restored. Great peak inside. Worth going if you are in the neighbourhood. The corridors are beautiful.

Nice place, but not very special. The building has a great mosaic walls and floors which do not stand out from other places you will see in Morocco. An artist lives there and exhibits his paintings, which are also quite nice.

Set into the middle of the medina and not easy to find but worth the effort when you do. This splendid palace is in disrepair but you can clearly appreciate it's magnificence and majesty and wonder what it was like in it's hey day. There are approximately 8 large rooms and a couple of courtyards to see and some of the rooms have painting and/or artifacts in them.

The story goes that the family still live at the entry to the palace. I found one - a very laid back and intriguing individual who told me that he's the only one of the family interested enough in wanting to preserve their ancestral home. So, little by little he's renovating it from the proceeds of sales of his paintings and admission fees. Having worked this out mathematically it will take him longer to achieve his goal than the lifetime he's got left! As it's a private home the government of Morocco it seems, don't offer restoration grants even though this is an amazing piece of architecture.

So if nothing else go before it collapses. It's worth a see. Then go take your lunch in Fes Café which isn't too far away.

This wasn’t very easy to find and not much advertised or promoted by our riad, but I had seen it mentioned on trip advisor and the lonely planet website and thought it sounded worth a visit. I was say it is a must for anyone visiting Fez. We paid 50 dirhams for entry for 3 adults and were allowed to explore on our own. This is a hidden beauty. Many of the rooms are in need of total renovation, but the size of the palace and the mosaics and wooden artefacts that are present are gorgeous. Brilliant photo opportunities too! We thoroughly enjoyed experiencing this grand palace, even though it is in need of some love and repairs!
