Recently spent a week at the hotel on short family break. Fairly typical for a Riad in Medina environment in Morocco. Strong points were easy going and friendly staff. Rooms were acceptable but probably going to need upgrading in not too distant future. They were also a little cramped with not a lot of space to do much. Weak points - no TV (not a major problem), poor lighting in room making reading almost imppossble, lack of hot water and shower not working properly - attempted to have this resolved but came to nothing. Tolerable but not really acceptable for the price of the room. In-house meals (need to be ordered in advance) and drinks expensive (but par for the course in Marrakech which is probably the most expensive place in Morocco). All in all enjoyable but would probably look for somewhere a bit more stylish next time and with more amenities.

This is a very stylish riad inside the Medina though away from the bustle of the souks. We were upgraded to the Jasmine suite which enjoys a private roof terrace which could be a real boon in Marrakech. Unfortunately the weather was quite wet so we didn't get to appreciate it, in fact the riad has a large roof terrace available to all its guests which would have been a great place to have breakfast on a sunny day. The suite is elegant and tastefully furnished though the bathroom is 2 floors down from the bedroom with a day room inbetween, the day room is very cute but not particularly useful. The staff at the riad are helpful and friendly. The guided walk to Jemaa el Fna, the main square, when you arrive is very useful, after a day the medina and souks are quite easy to navigate but it is reassuring that the riad provide you with a Moroccan mobile phone in case you get lost. The square is about a 20 minute walk away though you are soon in the bustle of the souks and although there is plenty of activity the walk is safe and we never felt threatened. We ate at the riad the first night and they had no problem serving plenty of vegetarian moroccan food, though eating at the stalls in the square is a must As our stay in Morocco was short we just took the one day trip from the Riad to the Ourika valley - a great escape from the city and an insight into another part of the country. We asked the riad to book us a hamman though at the arranged time there was no one available who knew exactly where we should go, instead we went to De la Rose which we stumbled across we couldn't recommend it highly enough, a truly relaxing experience. Afterwards we found out that the Riad has its own hamman though curiously that hadn't been mentioned to us.

Room Tip: Jasmine suite is spread over 3 floors but has lovely private roof terrace.

I stay 5 days in total, sleeping in three different rooms. As a summary it is a very nice place to stay, with very friendly and helpully people, nice homemade breackfast, but with some points to be taken into account.

1.- Practically you need to take the aiport trasfer service because the Riad is not very easy to find it. After the first time you can manage it, even you will get a mobile just in case you need help.
2.- You must not too bother of group of young people in each coorner in that part of the Medina. They are at their own business and do not bother you.
3.- The rooms do not have Wifi connection, only there is a free wifi near the reception.

As I have say before I really enjoy it.

When we arrived to the drop off point we were a little bit apprehensive due to the surroundings but shortly after realised this added to the magic of this trip.

We were met by Hakim and a porter who led us to the riad, through local streets, which at first seemed like a maze. Reflecting on this we felt we experienced true Marrakesh and consequently will return to the riad.

Walking to the from the riad they are lots of local children, however my husband and i never felt threatened in any way what so ever and felt safer than we do at home. These children are children, not the yobs that you see to often in the streets of uk. We were out til late and felt safe walking back to the riad. Be aware some the kids maybe a bit cheeky and point out that the way your heading is closed. The perfect answer we found was to point in the opposite direction and reply yes this way is closed too!

The riad is absolutely amazing. No flaws what so ever.

The staff cannot do enough.

Breakfast was massive, huge selection and fresh pastries, orange juice, eggs.

Our room the verveine was stunning.

The terrace is perfect was passing time watching the sunrise and set.

There was no hotel feel with this riad. It felt more like we were visiting family. This riad has a boutique feel to it.

On my birthday all the hotel staff presented myself with a stunning cake and sang happy birthday. It was very touching.

Hakim, the italian receptionist, sorry cant remember name and Abdulla our driver went out of their way to be helpful.

I have recommended this riad to my twin sister. My husband and i will be returning to marrakesh and we would only stay in this riad.

An experience not to be missed!

It would be too easy to warmly advise this piece of paradise in the heart of the old medina to couples of all ages traveling to marrakech or to a small group of friends. What makes the difference between a quality boutique hotels and a unique place is the treatment for a woman traveling on her own in a country. Every detail counts in the rooms, common spaces and above all in the service. Your beauty case can be reduced to your day & night cream, toothpaste, toothbrush and hairbrush. Nothing else as you will get addicted to the fabulous organic beauty products that you will find in the bathroom; to the point that you will ask where to buy the same products in Marrakech to bring them back home. The rooms are precious and you will feel as a princess. Especially if you indulge on the terrace laying in the sun, reading a book while enjoying a mint tea. Or if you decide to finish your day by a traditional hammam followed by a massage by experienced hands. As a foodie, I tend to be critical but this riad is also unique for the quality of the food served : do you find very often jam where the jelly part is very reduced in comparison to the quantity of  exquisite parts of real fruits ? Or where breakfast is tailored according to your specific tastes at your arrival ? If a dinner is organized during your stay, do not miss the opportunity to stay there even if you are a lonely traveller. I spent five days in this riad on my own and I am a frequent traveller. I recommend it with no reserves, especially to women. My future trip there will be planned with my mother but it could be also perfect with your partner or with some friends. In my opinion, the old medina is the best place to stay for discovering Marrakech. It is safe and enchanting. The area of the hotel chains has no soul and it is identical to a lot of places around the world.

If you The excursions are organized in a very personal way with competent guides. I had the opportunity to discover Marrakech with a history professor from Marrakech but speaking fluently French, English and my mother tongue Italian. Another positive note about the staff working there who is extremely attentive and reserved at the same time. I had the chance to discover is place thanks to trip advisor and that's why I want to leave my personal thank to all those travelers having left a message beforehand. I read a couple of negative messages but they are responding at all to the reality of the riad, I would then neglect them if I was you.
This place is unique and, as I had the occasion to discover in my travels, there is often a special woman behind a special place.
