There were four of us traveling on the weekend between Arabic classes in Rabat. The staff were great. Because there were four ladies we had a great two level accommodation. The host was excellent and helped with all sorts of facilities such as a guide, who apparently wasn't ready for ladies-who-shop, the hammam next door, transportation back to the train station and a very nice dinner in the evening.

Being in Marrakesh is one thing, but staying in a beautifully appointed riad in the median was an extra bonus. Everyone was extremely friendly and helpful. they all allowed us to practice our basic Arabic.

i want to go back and spend a couple of weeks exploring.

my friend booked this stay for us- and it was a lovely surprise.
i do not speak french, which was somewhat challenging, so mono-english speakers be prepared. the riad manager booked a guide and an excursion for us, one of whom spoke english and one very little.
the riad was gorgeous- although low lighting made it difficult to do much after dark.
lots of lovely details.
they are building a hammam on site which will motivate us to return!!!

Room Tip: they are all lovely!

We booked this first time Marocco trip via Groupon and had a wonderful stay in the Riad Amiria Victoria in Marrakech. We got invited to a nice meal at our first night at the Riad; stayed in a beautiful room and got all the service we needed. The riad has a coosy atmosphere. In the morning we had breakfast on the roof terrace with a nice view. The breakfast itself was simple, but you can order small things to make it more complete. Mr. Hassan offered a good service. We started the first day with a guide booked via the hotel to get a good start in the labyrint of the medina. After that we found our way in the medina by ourselves, which was a nice challenge. He also suggested two great restaurants Foundouk and Dargelliz with a relaxed but typical Maroccon atmosphere. The food was great, especially in Dargelliz. On our third day we booked a trip to the Berber mountainvillage Imlil, also via the hotel. It was a comfortable idea with a great guide in the village who took us for a 2 1/2 hours trecking through the mountains. The staff was helpful and very friendly, no complaints at all. We thought that the money was well worth it. Thanks Mr Hassan we had a great first time in Marrakech. After these 4 nights stay we took the bus to Essouira, a great combination when you stay just for one week in this country where there is lots to explore.

Located in the old Medina close to the Museum and historic Islamic university. Lovely Riad with beautiful and tasteful decor and a very warm welcome. A real pleasure to spend the week there. Already planning a return in January

This Riad was stunningly beautiful, well renovated, tastefully decorated, with impeccable service. We stayed at 3 riads in Morocco and this was my favorite one, simply for its beauty. The Riad has a french owner and is managed by his partner El Hasan who was very friendly and hospitable. The Riad staff were very respectful, diligent, and greeted us with excellent mint tea and cookies upon our arrival.

We got off to a bit of a rough start trying to find our way there from the airport, after our taxi driver dropped us off about 30 minutes walk away from the Riad. We had to get in another taxi while confused and lost, and ended up dealing with another frustrated taxi driver. Finally a man who seemed friendly guided us through the Marrakech medina to the Riad, at which point he asked for payment. This was the beginning of a series of informal guides and hasslers we encountered trying to walk to the main square and back.

Despite the stress, Riad Amira Victoria is a MUST. It is absolutely gorgeous, quaint but colorful, quiet but vibrant with energy. I could go on.... To avoid the stress that we encountered, I would strongly recommend calling in advance and speaking to the Riad manager El Hassan. The Riad staff spoke french and we fumbled to communicate with them. It was entertaining. The manager El Hassan spoke excellent english and would be able to tell you how to get to the Riad from the Ben Youssouf mosque, which is a mere 5 minutes walk away.

The rooms were beautiful and well appointed. Bed comfortable, plenty of water, although the drainage was slow. The room was cleaned every day. The Riad offers tours at decent prices. Breakfast was a great spread of bread, coffee, tea, fresh orange juice... We really enjoyed our stay and wished we had not booked another Riad already. We would love to go back again!
