Peaceful walk amongst the Roman and moroccons ruins and necropolis...the information is all in Arabic or French...no English so if you don't have a guide you are kind of clueless... nevertheless I enjoyed walking amongst the ruins...

The ancient ruins of a Roman city are enjoyable to walk through. We visited on a hot day and it was lovely to stroll through the gardens and ruins. We were fortunate to see the stork nests on the ruins. Although we had a guide it is worthwhile reading up on the area before you visit to add extra depth to the visit.

The Kasbah Chellah includes Roman ruins c200 BC - 300 AD, as well as early Moroccan, Islamic buildings representing living space, school, and mosque. Story nests high up on many protrusions from this historic site. Our group ended up taking as many pics of storks as they did anything else! This is a walking tour site; best to find some reading material on it to help you know what you're seeing, unless you have a tour guide. Some uneven walking surfaces, but not a problem. Some paths go 'up' as you make your way out. Tile work and mosaics still visible after all these years. Also interesting was the pool with eels, and the local woman who feeds them and the fish. Cats galore.

This necropolis has a nice garden. There are many storks and ibis.
The excavations are excellent. The explanations are in French.
