It is good hotel just for waiting a fly or a transfer. Outside is not so good neighbourhood, it is not recomendable got outside before at night (also in all Dar es Salaam).
The price is good. for stay just for little days is confortable but not the best.
The staff is very kind.

thank you for your comments

Yes, we tell our guests that going out at night in DarEsSalaam should be well planned.
We offer the best rate for the City Centre accomodation and try to make our guests as comfy as possible.
Hopefully you enjoyed your stay and welcome again!
thanks

It offers nothing very special, but does have clean, cheap rooms including breakfast and wifi that is actually working (at the time of writing ;)) and friendly staff that communicates in English easily. Also there is a restaurant just around the corner (chef's pride) where you can have food all day, including a quick, good dinner for late arrivals that are not happy to go around Dar by night.

Stayed here for one night on transit between Zanzibar and Arusha. Close to ferry terminal. Staff were friendly and helped us organise a bus to arusha at the bus terminal around the corner, as well as escorting us there at 4.45am which was nice, which meant we didn't need to go to the dodgy major bus terminal. Air Con couldn't be adjusted from the rather warm 26 degrees which was not ideal. Everything else ok.

Very happy to hear you enjoyed your stay and it was a pleasure having you. Apologies for the A/C issue. Each A/C is controlled with in-room remote and temperature can be adjusted by the guest. Perhaps the guest was not aware. We will make sure to inform our guests at checkin.
Thank you for taking the time to write a review.

Offer simple en suite single and double rooms at a cheap price. The location is great. The value for the price is good. My room was a little stuffy and the toilet was damp but clean. I am not sure if my room was a smoking room. If it was, I was not informed of it. A note to improve: the breakfast was a little dull. Dar es Salaam is very humid and hot. Fortunately, the room had a good fan.

Room tip: My room on the second floor had wifi reception.

Many thanks for the review. All our rooms are non smoking; however, guests break the rules on occasion, and sanitizing the room becomes quite a challenge. We are more than happy to relocate the guests in such situations.
Regarding the breakfast, please note that, given our mixed clientele, balancing the tastes of local versus international guests becomes quite a challenge, hence our breakfast menu might not satisfy all, but we try very hard to make everyone happy. Additionally, please understand that our menu list has to be kept small to make the prices very affordable.
Thank you again and best wishes for 2017!

I think the idea behind the Safari inn was to build it in one of the worst neighborhood in Dar. Anyway, the place has a badadministration (we've had problems with our rooms and with the reception) and also offers one of the worst breakfast in Tanzania. The rooms are clean and the price is low, which compensate for the brutal experience we've had at the Safari inn.

It's unfortunate that the guests, whose group occupied 2 rooms, are selective in their facts.
In an attempt to delay their 11am checkout time, they called the front desk just prior to claim they were "undecided" about staying 1 more night. Given booking requests from other arrivals for the same rooms, this created a challenge for the staff and guests were informed of the same.
Guests then showed up at noon to checkout and were reminded of their obligations, which did not sit well.
We are normally flexible with checkout timings and go out of our way to help the guests. Additionally, our housekeeping needs ample time to prepare the room for new guests and we take this responsibility very seriously.
Re: neighborhood, guests will be hard pressed to find a city centre location for the price and service that SAFARI INN offers. Our facility was built 25 years ago with hardly any development around; however, change is inevitable but we still make sure our guests are as comfortable as can be.
Thank You.
Manager.
