After reading all the amazing reviews on trip advisor we decided this would definitely be a must during our trip to Mauritius.
Wow!
From the moment we walked in til the moment we walked out (with full bellies may I add) we had a great experience.
The staff were friendly and attentive but not over your shoulder all the time.
We were 30 mins earlier than our booking and they accommodated just nicely.
The food that came out was presented well and served up in excellent portions sizes.
We both had a pasta entree, both excellent.
My boyfriend had prawn and chicken curry and he couldn't stop raving about it throughout the course of his meal.
I had the lamb shanks and wow it was amazing!
Even though our bellies were full with two courses and the delicious small bread rolls they bring you throughout the meal we opted for dessert as well, how could we say no?
Ice cream clearly made on the premises and the mango sorbet with chocolate mousse a great end to a fantastic meal.
We will be back! (Next Friday to be precise)

Thanks again!

We visited Labourdonnais and had lunch at the Chateau on a Wednesday afternoon in late April. I was surprised how busy the restaurant was - reservations are a must! The clientele was a mixture of local businessmen and families - this restaurant does well for both locals and tourists. Service was great - the wait staff was attentive, food arrived promptly - hot and wonderfully tasty. Off the restaurant is a nice gift shop and the rum tasting room. Overall nice experience.

We enjoyed a lunch here as part of my wife's birthday celebrations and we were not disappointed at all. The food was very well prepared and cooked, the service was fantastic and the views across the lawns towards the chateau were fantastic. Afterwards the rum-tasting and the walk around the grounds and through the chateau completed a perfect lunch. We would thoroughly recommend the whole experience.

Following my review on our last visit in October 2015 we have revisited for lunch twice in the last week and on the last occasion I had in my view the perfect lunch of:
Starter: Terrine of foie gras with onion compote and dried fruit brioche Salt from ‘Tamarin’
Main: Grilled ‘Tagliata’ of ANGUS beef with steak fries And Mesclum salad BIO
Dessert: Tart with caramel, chocolate and coffee, salty caramel ice-cream
It was awesome.
Other dishes in our party for the two lunches included the Crispy prawns and shiitakes rolls with Palm Heart salad and spicy mango dip, Prawns deglazed with Lobster Coral and Champagne Warm Palm heart soup with Argan oil, Braised Lamb shank with Bordeaux red wine BIO vegetables, puree of arouille and crispy vegetables, Crispy duck leg 4 hours‘confit’ with daily gratin, salad of rocket with mustard and honey vinaigrette, Strawberry cappuccino with pistachio ice-cream and mascarpone cheese, and the Panna Cotta Italian style with passion fruit and crispy coconut tuile.
Truly exceptional cuisine! Service was also excellent. This venue deserves its accolades; it's on our regular dining roster on future visits to Mauritius.

After a great morning visiting the Chateau and grounds we had lunch at the onsite restaurant, the food and service was so good that we felt we had to come back in the evening to experience the pleasure again. So booking for the following night we looked forward to trying more of the menu.
We were not disappointed, the ever helpful staff showed to our table and the night began under the watchful eye of the brilliantly lit Chateau.
Cocktails followed by foie gras terrine for me and tuna tartar for Carol which started the evening off brilliantly, next the Lamb shank and King Prawns with Asparagus Risotto beautifully prepared and served were both superb. Of course a good bottle of St Emilion enhanced the pleasure.
We were not disappointed with the deserts either, both were so good we cleared the plates....
All in all a fantastic dinning experience we were not expecting and finished off with a glass of locally produced rum admiring the renovated Chateau, who could ask for anything more, certainly not us.
A great restaurant with great food. If you are in Mauritius you have to go, many thanks Chef for a culinary experience we won't forget in a hurry.
