What a dirty disorganised hotel. I'd imagine this was a lovely location when first built but that seems to be some time ago. The rooms are basic, the breakfast edible at best and the noise level is ridiculous.

Dear Guest.
Greetings from forest cottages.
Please accept our apologies for the inconvenience caused. Because of Road construction and drainage line work conducted by local council the place is bit Noisy & dusty. and all our staff working tirelessly to make it clean all the time .. luckily the work is about to finish,

we are sure that your next visit will be a pleasant one.
Best Regards

I stayed at Forest Cottages for about 3 weeks in a few rooms - while in transition between project sites - and would stay there again without question. The place has character, the staff are hard-working, helpful and good. It is true that there are some maintenance issues that arise - I think among my small team staying there we had a leak and a broken window and a faulty outlet and maybe a few other issues, but these were addressed promptly. The Indian food is fantastic - the one thing I really miss after having left. The breakfast is basic but good. As noted by others - free access to Kabira Country Club pool is a REALLY nice benefit. Wifi is solid and its just a really pleasant atmosphere.

Senior management can be a bit gruff with staff, laundry is WAY overpriced, and you do have to watch the bill; some staff are a bit too inclined to explicitly ask for money and they really should get DSTV... but these are all pretty minor gripes for Uganda travel.

Overall super accommodating hotel in a great location with wonderful staff.

On the suggestion of work colleagues and some positive reviews, I booked a stay here for a week. It’s been 4 nights and we’ve already had to deal with switching cottages twice. The first one leaked during a rainstorm (both the upstairs and the downstairs beds were soaked with water at 4am!) and then the second one had a flooding toilet. I booked and paid for a cottage for 2 people and they have the nerve to try and charge us an additional $20 per night for a roll away bed for the second guest! Aside from decent internet and friendly staff, this place is quite poor. Take your money elsewhere.

This was our first night and it was a very welcome place to stay.

Stairs downstairs to the room were a little dodgy, but the rooms were comfortable and clean.

Food was very good for breakfast and dinner.

Staff were good.
