As usual, it started out great... Great location, great service, great food and great drink... But then, hey... What happened for Pete's sake? All that is left is the great location, and that one is accessible only from Friday to Sunday now. Either the management clearly lost interest or, and I wish the latter, they made enough money and don't need to work most of the week anymore. Now given reduced opening hours, one can not but wonder how that would reflect on food stocks. Sure no chef can calculate precisely how many fillets he is going to sell in 3 days and therefore would buy enough not to run out. But what happens with unsold stock over the next 4 days? Freezer...? But this being Uganda with frequent power outage, will there be a back up generator keeping what's supposed to be frozen at that? Doubtful.
Besides that, over time service and food quality became inconsistent with one of the highest fluctuation of restaurant managers in Kampala over the last 18 months. The food portions decreased, whilst prices increased, yet the quality of it... Leaves much to wish for lately. The coffee maker broken down for weeks, and no hesitation by the staff to point out its no one's fault but the rats, who chew through the wiring... Hello!?
Overall, not worth the hassle going to anymore unless one doesn't mind coming up a closed gate... What a waste of prime space, beautiful venue indeed, if only management would be en par with expectations and actually put itself behind and into the place. A simple burger, albeit well presented and rather tasty caused medium stomach upset lasting for over 3 days twice. 1 out of 10 from previously 8 out of 10 and a clear recommendation to stay clear of food as freshness is not guaranteed anymore.
