The place is gorgeous, a massive and well decorated lobby and nice pool and garden area out the back. Rooms are dated, hardwood floors with carpet, very few outlets and generally a feeling of sleeping in an old house. Service was excellent, front desk made copies and printed things out for free and the room service breakfast was massive and phenomenal for just $10. Location is near Buddha Stupa which isn't really near much and I would have preferred to be in Thamel. Stayed here with a Hyatt free night but definitely wouldn't have spend the $100+ otherwise as there are nicer hotels in Thamel (nearer the action) for less.

Room Tip: Get a room facing the Stupa

This is one of the better hotels in Kathmandu. It is very close to the airport and conveniently located. Very friendly and helpful staff. The building and architecture are very traditional with all modern facilities.

We were on a family holiday with children and senior citizens for the first time to Nepal. Hyatt Kathmandu was definitely the right decision and we couldn't have asked for more. The rooms were great, the food was impeccable and the total area was large and had a lot of facilities like a pool, tennis court, multiple lawns, indoor and outdoor Jacuzzi, spa, sauna, steam room and much more.
We enjoyed many aspects of Hyatt but what we enjoyed the most was the personal attention and support from the Hyatt staff. They were extremely helpful and made us feel like royalty. Once we happened to meet Sujita(a staff member) outside the hotel, on the streets, out of her working hours and she went out of her way to support us, thus saving us time and effort. Our stay was full of surprises and wonderful experiences that will stay with us forever.

I was there on a business trip and the service from the staff was fantastic and I felt like an honoured guest especially by Chef Arun and the rest of the staff in the Cafe. It has a good gym, you can walk or jog around the grounds or explore the surrounding Boudha stupa that is a 5 minute walk away. Other than that you are quite isolated from the downtown areas but they do run a shuttle bus into the city.
