Located at the south end of Thamel it is quiet and conveniently close to shops and restaurants. Hotel is an older building with a pleasant garden area. Rooms are pretty standard for hotels of similar price and overall I could not much that I would rate above average. Next time I visit Kathmandu I will almost certainly look for a hotel with better value

We spent seven nights in The Nirvana Gardens Hotel in December 2013. It was lovely. For the first 5 nights our room had a balcony with a view of the lovely gardens. The last two nights we upgraded to the suite which was beautiful, and we had a view of the stunning himalayas. The rooms were very spacious.
Breakfast in the garden was a great way to start each day - I recommend their thick and fluffy pancakes, yum! The garden was also great to return to after spending time walking around the main streets of Thamel which are chaotic and noisy. This hotel is located slightly off the main street so it is nice and quiet - perfect for getting a good night's sleep. The staff were all very friendly and helpful.

Stayed here for 2 nights, one at either end of a trek. Both times people from our group had problems with the rooms, from being locked out the bathroom, to dirty sheets and unclean rooms. The staff were mixed, some were ok but others pretty unhelpful. It's not pleasant when they knock on the door to demand money for breakfast - you couldn't even pay the bill when you left the hotel.
The location is good, but hey, most of the hotels in Thamel are within touching distance of each other. The garden is nice enough, but the rest of the place is a let down.

the hotel is decent with a good location and a garden. the rooms are comfortable but the sheets looked a bit dusty. the breakfast spread was only continental i.e baked beans, bread butter jam and some juices. being an indian, we are used to a larger breakfast spread. the bathrooms were fairly clean. overall a decent stay for the price.

stayed here for 2 nights. the hotel is decent. though the rooms look slightly old. rooms are spacious. bathrooms are clean. service is also decent. it is close to the market area and hence cabs are easily available. the garden is sweet.
