We used this hotel as a base for 4 days on arriving in Bangkok and as an overnight stay before flying home. it is a little out of the way of the main (and very busy) centre of Bangkok and that was one of the reasons we chose it. It is on the river and 2 minutes away from the tourist ferry boats. Walk down the road, through the park and over the cross river ferry (cost 3 baht!). For 150 baht you get a day pass to travel the river - beautiful. Visited the Grand Palace, Wat Arun, Flower Market, Reclining Buddha using this.
The hotel also offers a lift to the Skytrain station. Cheap, cool and easy to get into Bangkok proper! Coming back, we took taxis or the Skytrain and then a tuk tuk/taxi. Make sure you get a brocheure from the hotel with the address written in Thai. Many of the taxis were unsure where the hotel was!
The room was European (small, clean and comfy beds), the breakfast (all you can eat) is good value at about £5 and the bar meals adequate. Eating overlooking the river is amazing! Trips can be arranged at the hotel and they were good value.
Wi-fi worked well in the lobby and around the beautiful pool.
Had a really good stay at this hotel and would highly recommend it!More
