Owner description: ASIATIQUE The Riverfront will be Bangkok’s first large-scale riverside project combining shopping, dining, sightseeing, activities and events under one roof. The strong cultural aspect is what sets it apart from other shopping malls. Embracing history, but avoiding the cultural clichés and traditional symbols, it strikes a balance between tradition and globalization.

We visited Asiatique on Friday 30th April at about 10 PM and visited a Japanese lifestyle shop, selling various products for the home. While in the shop my wife purse was stolen by the below two people as taken from the shop surveillance system. Apparently, this type of crime is now endemic at Asiatique with multiple crimes taking place daily. The shop were very helpful in providing the surveillance footage and my wife is well connected with the police and TV, we had the footage shown on Bangkok TV. She also visited the security office and they complained that many of the CTV cameras didn't work or were not well placed with no memory cards to suitably record activities. This is worrying especially if a terrorist activity happened like at the Erawan Temple, it's not just about petty crime tourists need to feel safe.

We used to visit Asiatique twice a year when visiting Bangkok, we WONT be going again with such high level of pick pocket/crime activity. The owners and managers should increase security as they have a serious problem on their hands, some people may read this and be put off which is a shame as it has been a place of great pleasure for us, and YES we will be telling all our friends too in Hong Kong and China. Your business will be effected and you will loose revenue..,FIX THIS CRIME WAVE NOW.

If you’re looking to do all your shopping in one place, I’d highly recommend. Prices are more expensive than elsewhere but the convince is worth it. There is also a lady boy show and Muay Thai fights within the complex.
Koh San road was not worth the trip for shopping. It would be a good place to drink though.

This market consist of 8-10 areas which denote by warehouses. From food to apparel to souvenirs. Getting on the ferris wheel will have a better view of waterfront and Asiatique!!

Located along the river front - a good place for foodies as it has many varieties of food choices - from Chinese, Thai, as well as Western and Japanese.

There is also a shopping boulevard as well as a Ferris wheel!

Getting there is also interesting - you can take the train to Saphan Thaksin anda there's a free shuttle boat ride to Asiatique every 15 minutes.

Only peeve is the amount of tourists and locals at the place making the area constantly packed with people.

It’s like Chatuchak and Chiang Mai Market by the river. We especially enjoyed watching people purchase and eat scorpions, crickets, worms and other cucaracha looking insects. The Katar coconut ice cream was delicious as was the fresh mango shake. There is so much to see and ogle at. Will definitely go back. Also, just uber and grab rather than take tuktuks where you waste so much time bargaining and wondering if the driver is ripping you off. If you want a tuktuk, bargain and live with your choice to ride or not.
