Stayed here in April 2011. Just arrived in Bangkok and desperate for a hotel. Reception area seemed nice enough so booked a room. Got to room and very small with horrible shower and toilet. Also above a noisy road to the front as I found out in the morning. Breakfast was surprisingly good, large selection and help yourself. Free wi-fi

Room Tip: Stay away from front of hotel as noisy in morning from traffic

dont even think of entering the unico.. the building will look attractive but rooms are very small just 8 by 8 size this hotel is adjoining to a canal and actully is a severage outlet of the city so the smell is something unbearable. they will charge you 400 bhat for guest entry where as no other hotels charge.

Room Tip: may be 8th floor or above sothat you can avoid smell

When we reached here 01 whole side of the hotel was under renovation, The same was not informed to us while the booking was made. The front desk staff was very ok, they did not have much knowledge about many things and were not very co-operative. Our 1st room (Economy room) was horrible, dirty sheets, dark rooms, bathroom was clean, the whole room was dam stuffy. Our friend asked for a change of rooms but next room given was even worse so we stuck to this shabby 01 as we were late for the city tour. At 01:00am on the check in day we got a call from the front desk asking us to change the room cause the water pipe broke an there would not be any electricity and water for 12hours. We agreed to shift and was upgraded to the deluxe room, which was much much better. Breakfast was good. All in all if your a single budget traveler stay here or else avoid it. Shopping was far from this hotel had to pay 60Baht by Tuktuk, which also was a disappointment. And this hotel does not have 24hrs money exchange. Also if you ask them for any small thing for example a charger they charge you. Bad service i will say. Have a good stay. Bangkok Rocks:)

Room Tip: Economy Room is a No No, Deluxe Rooms are much better......

My wife and I stayed there recently and the room was terrible, two people could not pass by the space between the bed and the wall, the toilet seat was discusting it had been painted and the paint was peeling off the seat leaving what looked like number 2`s stains, there was not a shower curtain and I had too hold the shower head while my wife got a shower or the water would go everywhere. The window would not stay open. The internet service took about a half hour to load, then it would lose the signal after 2 minutes then you had to start the whole process over again. This hotel is set in what the locals call the indian sector, because it set in a street which caters for people from india. The so called swimming pool was full of leafs and about 2 foot deep. My wife and I booked this hotel purely on the pictures and reviews but we will never stay there again.

Room Tip: If you must stay there pay for the best room in the house and it just maybe on from the photo gallery.

i dont understand on the many bad reviews about this hotel. I stay here for 4 nights and i think it was just great. Firstly i got a free room upgrade to deluxe (thru agoda) which was pretty big, much bigger than my room back home..lol. Service was resonably good, counter staff are friendly too. Price is excellent, considerng its in sukhumvit. In room facilites are good too. hair dayer, safe, mini bar all avaiallble, bathtub too. Perhaps the only sad case was that my friend room has no hot water for shower, however he did not complain as he is fine with cold water. Some reviews complains about corriidor being narrow.. but who cares- you dont sleep in the corridor.
Overall all of us are very satisfied with the hotel.
Very value for money. Will be back again.

Room Tip: Take the deluxe room. not the economy ones.
