The hotel is ok, the room is comfortable and clean, nice staff, good breakfast but the place a bit old,Chenese group too noisy it's not set up for western visitors and I would not recommend it to anyone traveling to Bangkok for pleasure

Maruay Garden Hotel is not luxurious, but is very convenient to Kasetsart University and the Department of Agriculture laboratories. The rooms are large and clean, and the beds rock hard, as is pretty normal in Thailand for this class of hotel. The staff are friendly but no one I met could speak English at even a moderate level, so communication is difficult. The buffet breakfast is very average but there are a number of restaurants and street vendors within a block of the hotel that provide a meal option. The Maruay is a reasonable hotel for a work trip and I am a repeat visitor.

Thank you for your comment. Now we are improving by setting English Training Course for the staff.

Attentive staff. They are very polite and accommodating. They also have several eateries and convenient store around the area. Clean, neat, and spacious room with very archaic decoration like the design from 20-30 years ago. Very hard to control bath tub. The water was either too hot or too cold.

The big minus, unfortunately, was the food.

Imagine yourself awoke in the morning. You went to the restaurant expected to find something nice or tolerable t o fill your stomach. Little did you know that you will find very horrible food there (and calling them food was an overstatement).

Bread was very hard to chew that you could throw them away and cause serious damage to people or properties. Very sad looking and soggy salad corner with shrinking vegetables. Under-cooked ham and shriveling sausages with very poor quality meat and taste. Fried rice was very hard and uneven as in both texture and temperature with no taste at all.

One good cuisine there, however, was water. Very refreshing.

Room Tip: Anywhere but here

This hotel is opposite to my office. Many government department used to organized meeting here due to convenience of location and reasonable price. But they have changed the management sometimes ago , felt like services were worse than before. The room has stale odor.Thai would give it a three star but I woul say 2+1/2 only. Now(Nov 2016) there is a Green line skytrain construction infront of the hotel so the traffic will be bad for another 2-3 years. No tourist attraction nearby.

The location is not fit for those who want tour around Bangkok since it is very far from train stations. You need to pay around 100 to 150 Baht (with moderate to heavy traffic) before you can use the MRT or BTS. Amenities are good. Room is clean but can be improved. Staff are courteous and helpful when you want assistance in talking with taxi drivers about your destination. Good wifi connection in 8th floor (where my room was) but you need to get username and password after 24 hours of use. You also need to log in after each time you turn off your wifi connection of your phone or laptop. Foods served during buffet are okay.
