Week worth a visit. Stunning to look at. Be prepared for loads of tourists however, and I mean loads!! Wear long trousers and cover your shoulders. Paid 500 Baht to get in, but it has to be seen.

There is so much to see at this beautiful place! We spent several hours walking around looking at the different buildings and statues. The detail put into everything is magnificent!

You can’t go to Bangkok without visiting the Grand Palace. It is pretty crowded but it does flow quite well even with two young kids and a pram!!!! Please respect the dress code - you will be stopped at the gates. Guys - trousers and a shirt, ladies - pants and a long sleeve shirt (or else you will be told... ‘no sexy allowed’ if you try enter with arms or chest showing). We made our way through on our own and decided not to take a tour guide. If you want a guide you can hire one, they stand outside the main gate and you can negotiate a fee. If you don’t have long - say 60-90 minutes then a guide is best.

Very busy and lots of crowds go early. Beautiful paintings on walls. Stunning decorative buildings.
Lots of photo opportunities.

This is one of those "have to" visit attractions if you are visiting Bangkok. Sort of like the Eiffel Tower in Paris or Washington Monument. The beauty is beyond belief. That being said, recognize that every tourist in Bangkok also visits the palace. Bangkok is HOT, and stuffed into the palace grounds with 10,000 of your not so close friends, all taking selfies can be a bit daunting!
