Great hotel location, room looks tired

4.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed 24 Jul 2019via mobile
Stayed here on 22nd July, location is amazing with only a 3 minutes walk to MBK Mall, and hotel location is in front of BTS National Stadium. Easy access to a 24 hours 7 eleven to get your daily things. Standard room for the hotel is quite small but enough to get a good sleep. Friendly reception who allowed us to check in at 11AM, which is hard to get from a city hotel.

Dear MalcolmNg96,

I am happy to know about your overall good experience regarding your recent visit at the ibis Bangkok Siam hotel.

The location is of course our strength, the hotel is located right in the hear of the city center and withing walking distance from the major shopping malls. Plus, the convenient access to the sky train station in front of the hotel to discover the city along is definitely advantageous.

Thank you again for sharing your experience, and we hope your next visit will be as pleasant as the previous one.

Sincerely,

IBIS Siam is just right next to the BTS National Stadium station. It is clean and comfortable. The room is a little bit small, but in Bangkok it is good enough. The staffs esp the cleaning ladies are very polite. The hotel is close to big shopping malls such as MBK and Siam Square. There is a laundry in Kasem San 1 Alley just 3 mins walk from the hotel. The Yelo Cafe near the hotel is cool. There is a very good currency exchange called "Siam Exchange" around the corner of the Bangkok Art and Culture Centre (BACC), remember to bring your passport for currency exchange. The Chulalongkorn University just nearby is the best university in Thailand. Worth visit.

I have booked 2 rooms for my family of 5
I have 3 children age 7 to 13
The hotel provided the two rooms without a bed for the fifth child although the reservation is clear that one room is for 3 person
The manager didn’t take any responsibility saying we should all fit in the beds we have or pay for an upgrade
Never have met such bad service in a hotel
Do your self a favor find a different hotel with a staff and management that takes responsibility on their mistakes and try to make the guests feel welcomed

Dear sarelm2014,

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience at the ibis Bangkok Siam .Sadly, I read about your disappointing visit and regret that the services provided did not meet your expectations. As the manager mentioned, according to the hotel guidelines the rooms from ibis Bangkok Siam hotel are suitable for 2 adults and 1 child under 12 years old sharing the existing bedding as the hotel does not provide extra bed. The policy has been indeed well reminded to you upon arrival and highlighted from your confirmation letter.

Guest satisfaction is surely our prime concern, therefore we offered you to upgrade to the Mercure hotel next door for additional 800THB per night and per room with complimentary extra bed for your child. As the offer was unfortunately rejected , the management did the best to allocate your family as much convenience as we could by offering the connecting rooms as an alternative.

Again, at ibis, we are looking for continuous improvement and hope to provide a high level of experience to every customer. Thank you very much again for informing us about your concerns and I sincerely hope unfortunate issue will not hinder you from returning to our property in the future so that we may serve you as best as possible according to our brand standard.

Warmest regards,
Raphael Hirsch

Stay at Ibis Siam Bangkok - Average Quality.
The room was as expected for budget level hotel. Pricing was a little high for the quality but the location was rather good. 7-11 at the lobby which was convenient

I'd stayed here for 2nights, with average cost about THB2400/night/room (include breakfast for two). Perfect and strategic location. Near the central train station and central business district (Pratunam is about 30minutes walking, MBK is about 5-10minutes walking, the same distance as Siam Paragon, Siam center, and Madame Tussauds in Siam Discovery mall). Old Bangkok city (Thanon Khao San is about THB100 by taximeter). Super fast check in and check out process. The hotel fulfilled almost all of my requests since I was traveling with my parents, family and old people (Thank you so much for this..) The hotel served non halal food for breakfast separated from the other food (like bread, salad, etc) with clearly food signboard (and also for room service menu), so we did eat the food without no doubt (since I am a moslem). Room was clean and cozy and so efficient (they made it in purpose) with great city view (facing Siam Discovery Mall). Maybe, the poorest internet connection was the weakness of service of this hotel. I had to try many times to connect into the wi-fi hotel. Also probably, the usage of swimming pool was at cost (I'd just read at the banner, not so sure about this). But so far, I was very satisfied staying in this hotel. Surely will be back and make this hotel as my priority hotel to stay in Bangkok.

Room tip: Ask for the room facing the MBK or Siam Discovery mall

Strategically situated in front of National Stadium BTS Station and walking distance to shopping areas. Nearby there are several restaurants and stalls offering halal food.
There were a lot of guests coming in and out in the late evening - this is to be expected since the hotel is in centre of shopping district and popular with packaged tours.

Room tip: Choose rooms that are at the end of corridors to minimise noise from other guests.
