This was an excellent place from which to explore Chiang Mai. Everything you need is close by and the staff were great with recommendations of fantastic places to eat, cooking courses to go on and even where does the best laundry! Set down a small lane in the centre of the old city, there was no noise from passing traffic. We'd definitely stay here again!

The guesthouse screams style. Rooms are big, airy, light - just fantastic. As are the semi - open bathrooms. Owners are really helpful with your needs. There's a kitchenette at your disposal and a fridge on every floor. Location within the moat is great, there are loads of restaurants, massage parlours, laundries, shops, and a market in the area. The whole city was an incredible experience in the time of loy krathong / yee peng.
The only drawback was a pretty loud nightclub in the vicinity, which doesn't shut up untill 3am (we checked it out, there were very few patrons, so the level of noise seems inapropriate - hope local authoroties can do something about it).

I was at Chiang Mai last month and among all the guest house around the city, Yindee is my favorite. I paid around $25 for a night and what I experienced worth way more than that. The place is very clean, towels are provided, tv with international channels, top of that, free drinking water. The bathroom was very clean with high pressure hot water. The atmosphere itself were very cosy. After a long day of traveling, nothing like a comfy bed to come and rest. The staffs are wonderful with 24 hours security. Everything is very nearby from this guesthouse. I just loved the experience there. Definitely a place to stay , low budget for a five star experience.

Room Tip: If you have big bag, get the ground floor room.

Other than being slightly more pricey than the other guesthouses, Yindee takes the cake! We were lucky to have the owner to help us with our check in, he gave us a brief history of Chiang Mai which was extremely interesting I must say, he even suggested shops to rent bikes and an excellent thai restaurant with affordable prices for our meals. The guesthouse doesn't provide breakfast but it provides free flow of tea, coffee and fruits anytime, any day. The rooms are very clean and cosy with a little balcony. Yindee is located within the old city and walking distance to many cafes and pubs, very convenient. I'd love so much to stay here again, perhaps breakfast should be included next time? Considering the room rates?

My girlfriend and I stayed here for the 4 nights we had in Chiang Mai and found the room really excellent, the common areas very clean and welcoming and the staff extremely friendly and helpful.

Jazz, the owner, is full of excellent suggestions for local restaurants and can help get lower prices for activities, but he is never pushy about getting you to use his friends for other activities.

The building is set back from a sweet little street full of coffee houses, restaurants etc which is right off a major road in old town. This means you are right in the center of Chiang Mai proper, but far enough from the tuk tuks and late night bars to get a good nights sleep, and then you have complementary fruit and local tea to wake up to the next day. What else could you want from a guest house? Also our bed was ENORMOUS, which was a nice treat.

Can't recommend it enough. Thank you Jazz for a friendly, welcoming base to explore Chiang Mai from. Hopefully We will be back some day!

Room Tip: try ImmAim (formerly Pun Pun) for some of the best vegetarian food I ever tried. I'm usually a skeptic about vege restaurants but this one blew me away. amazing ingredients and
