A large family group experienced wonderful hospitality for a full week where nothing was too much trouble for these friendly and professional staff at all ranks! Our room was fine with every amenity working well. We enjoyed the lovely pool and the gym. As a group we enjoyed the amazing complimentary dinner - multi course, beautifully served by a team of staff led by a multi-lingual master of ceremonies. Everyone at table received a gift plus flowers for all the ladies.
Food and ground floor restaurant superb.
After a week our family had gone but we had to stay on for a further 10 days due to my husband's medical condition.
Again the staff excelled with attention and concern for our comfort and convenience. We enjoyed another complimentary dinner, free transport daily for medical appointments and even a special delivery of flowers and ornaments on our wedding anniversary!
Couldn't recommend a hotel more highly. Beautiful lobby with welcoming staff at all hours. The night markets are easily reached by tuc tuc or red cab for reasonable fares. Go to the Empress!

My partner and I stayed here in November for 3 nights and had the most wonderful time. We initially had booked 2 nights but enjoyed it so much we added on a 3rd night. The hotel is fabulous & the staff are what makes this hotel even better. They cannot do enough for you! We had mentioned that it was our anniversary upon checking in & they upgraded our room to the most beautiful suite with mountain views. On our first evening they left us the most amazing food hamper filled with all the different types of biscuits/ crisps & chocolate that we get back in the UK! We couldn’t believe it and thought it was a really lovely touch!

The food in the hotel is superb so make sure you have dinner here at least once! The Red curry was amazing! It is very reasonably priced and there is a happy hour too!! There is also live music in the evening which was lovely! Breakfast was also one of the best we have experienced in Thailand- such a big selection of westernised food and the banana bread was to die for!!

The gym is also very good & has a wide variety of machines & weights & the pool is beautiful with gorgeous mountain views!

The hotel helped us arrange trips to the elephant sanctuary & a cooking class which we thoroughly enjoyed and can’t recommend enough whilst in Chiang Mai.
Thank you for a fabulous stay!

This is a very nice Thai Hotel! The staff genuinely takes great care of you upon arrival and throughout your trip. The rooms are clean and by the end of your stay you feel like you have come to know the staff. Food is exceptional, however we mostly ate at the night market or street vendors which are walking distance. The hotel surprised us with a free meal which was a specialty meal cooked for us and there were some awesome dishes. We were also provided with "gifts" when we dined - totally unexpected. Not sure if they do that for all, but it was a pleasant surprise and the property is well maintained. You will enjoy!

Our stay was four nights, and it was quite pleasant. Upon arrival we were advised we had an upgrade, which was lovely, until we arrived in our room to see single beds. After discussions with Reception, we were advised there is no guarantee when you book that you receive a bed for two? Even though your option is to book a twin bed or a large bed. Large bed was booked, after further discussions we were moved to a room with a large bed-comfy to sleep in, and the room was lovely, no complaints. Make sure you check when booking. The one surprise was a bag of goodies on the bed which was terrific and such a great idea and greeting gift. The room was very clean and made up each day very promptly. Breakfast had a large selection of options for all ethnic backgrounds and was very enjoyable as was the complimentary dinner. The dinner was another surprise, small gifts to give to each other with several courses, most of these were served to you and one with a special presentation by the staff, we had so much fun and then to finish off there was a smorgasbord for main meal unbelievable for a free meal, I have never seen this before in Thailand and I must say well done to the Empress. I utilised the gym each day, this does need an upgrade, there was a lack of equipment and most of it was very old. The restaurant and bar staff were terrific, wonderful service and it was nice to see the same faces each day, even though I wondered if they ever got any sleep, hard workers. This hotel is located in a good position in Chiang Mai and a very quick walk out to the main streets and walking distance of course to the markets and other tourist areas for great restaurants, food stalls shopping etc. The Night Markets in town which are held over the weekends are also another great stop. We could hear no noise what so ever from the outside of the hotel and it was very handy having your own tea and coffee in your room. All in all, good service, and a pleasant stay.
