Of course chiang mai has so many good eating spots but i was so happy here returned time after time. Here they are so unassuming that you would come to the conclusion that its probaly always been this way and will never change. I asked for a penang curry vegetable with only green veggies and in 20 years plus of coming to thailand have to say it was as good as it gets. Friendliest of Mamas there was happy to oblige, coupled with the nutty red rice and a thai omelette washed down with a fresh coconut. Tucked away down a small soi near peppermint cafe near thapae gate in the old town. Look forward to my return.
we went here instead of going again to the peppermint coffee house. i added a photo for how to find the location.
we were 2 times there and it was each time very delicious!!
the prices are still cheap and not touristic.
staff is very friendly and always trying there best.
More than a hundred options of dishes, including many vegetarian options. Good prices and a smoke free environment, family ran, authentic and delicious. Ask around about the address/location, as following the map may be tricky.
We went here on a recommendation from the owner of our guest house. We were a bit doubtful but decided to accept his advice--and we are glad we did. This was the best meal I ate in the month I was in Thailand.
On the hotel man's recommendation I ordered deep fried whole fish without really having much idea what that would be. What a delicious surprise!
The restaurant looks rather plain and humble when compared to many of the places nearby but the food is EXCELLENT and we were so pleased we had found it. It's not about fancy decor and stylish service--it's about food they are proud to serve.
We returned next morning for breakfast!
