Despite being within the city walls, The Buri Gallery House is a little away from the main tourist hub of Chiang Mai. This however is a good thing as it means the neighbourhood has a more local feel but is still within easy reach of major attractions. Indeed from our room (Deluxe) we could see two of the local Wats. If you are there on a weekend, as we were, an added bonus is the presence of the Sunday 'Walking Street' which encompasses the street outside the front door from 4pm - midnight. As for the actual rooms, given the prices they are quite good, but perhaps a little on the tired side. While we had no specific complaints with our room, they could do with a little bit of a polish I think. The staff of the Buri were all excellent and willing to go the extra step to help out. And the Cat...it was just cool, as was the onsite pool.

We found this place and it's great reviews on tripadvisor and decided to check it out before booking. We showed up on the doorstep and were showed a room that was over $30 USD (1200THB) that was terrible. Dark corridors, moldy, dirty bathrooms, stained bedcovers and no rooms. We booked a lovely place in Bangkok in a great neighborhood for less than that so we moved on and found a much better place for much cheaper. See my other reviews.

We stayed her e for 3 nights at the end of April and the staff are great! They offered to pick us up at the airport and took us back for no cost! they even upgraded us and gave us a late check out - again no cost and a free massage! they were always on hand to offer tips on local places to go and did not force any tours onto us. They even said the tour we already booked with another company was a good one!
Yes when you are downstairs you may not get a window but you pay less, we had room C3 and it was lush! I could see part of the main temple from my balcony and window. the room was spacious, well equiped (aircon, TV, DVD player, Computer! Hairdryer and kettle) free wifi and clean. Its got a lovely pool and serves a good breakfast
I would definitely stay here again and recommend this hotel.
when in the bathroon you could slightly hear next door in their bathroom but nothing major but you are in the quiet part of town so if you stayed down the other end you would complain more of the horns and screach of mopeds!
A big thanks to the staff for making our last days in Thailand great!

Room Tip: Ask for an upstairs room, we liked C3

We enjoyed our stay in Buri Gallery House so much! The room was very nice, and the breakfast was tasty, healthy and filling. We location is perfect--in the center of the old town. Our daughter loved the pool and the friendly, fun staff. The staff was so personal, kind and helpful--kudos to Kanya, Tatar, Angkor, Rose, and Tom!!!! We appreciate you guys so much! Thank you for a special visit to Chiang Mai!!
