I cannot say enough about this restaurant. This is a world-class establishment. I ate at Michelin-starred places in Singapore and Seoul during the week prior to visiting Supattra, and Supattra is every bit as deserving of a star as those restaurants.

The basil and gin cocktail was well-balanced and delightful. My wife's cocktail, a ginger daiquiri, was also wonderful.

We shared an appetizer of tofu and vegetable stuffed little fried packages. These were delicious and beautiful. We shared two entrees. We had the blue crab with yellow curry and a whole local fish (cannot recall the species) which was prepared fried and toped with tons of spicy local herbs and vegetables. These two plates were both just incredible. The seafood and ingredients were hyper-local. The flavors were just amazing...sweet, sour, salty, spicy, crunchy, soft.

Finally, the service was great. This is a husband (front of house/bar) and wife (chef) team that go out of their way to make you feel welcome and explain their menu. If I am ever back in Samui, I will be here every night.

We went there based on others reviews. It's great experience. The restaurant location is near the port and a big local market. Western Husband looking after the customer while Thai wife cooking in the kitchen. The starter we chose was meat ball, chicken satay and crispy squid. Meat ball using the same ingredients as minced pork salad, with chopped mint mixed, taste so fresh. First time found a satay not using sweet source, which I really like. The highlight is that yellow curry blue crab, live crab, steamed and pull the meat out almost keep it's original shape, yellow curry source give you a good kick(you can choose the spicy level, I personally like strong one and the Chef cooked perfectly). We also tried the seafood with red curry, this time the seafood was put in a young coconut, light seasoning let you feel the freshness and natural sweetness. Meal finished with a very good looking mango sticky rice with some flowers on top, flower can be eaten, taste like mushrooms. Not forgetting to mention, this restaurant also has a fine selection of wine. Wonderful place will come again.

After a week in Bangkok and Koh Samui , we were very disappointed in the Thai food experience. We have better Thai food in Sydney! Even the five star hotel restaurants were pretty average. Everything was westernized ...lacking in flavor, too sweet and just not what we had expected . Discovering Supattra was such a delight and restored our faith. It was absolutely the best Thai food we've had. Every dish was perfection . The crab curry, fried snapper , squid salad, pork larb, fish curry were highlights, but every dish was fantastic . The owner and his wife (the chef) were lovely and you could tell that their lives were dedicated to quality food. It's amazing value and we will be back .

I have to disagree with previous review: dear owners - please do no make the restaurant any bigger! What a special treat! 6 tables only, excellent and warm service. Food was fresh and delicious and the quality was so good. Not the same food that's at every other Thai place in Koh Samui. These are delicious individual dishes based on what is fresh that day. Choose off the chalk menu as the owner explains each dish and discusses the spice level right for you.
This is mostly seafood and fish though I assume they could cater to vegetarians if you ask in advance as delicious salads and vegetables were part of each meal.
No view, planes buzzing directly overhead and we don't want a thing to change.
Please don't expand! It is perfect as it is!

The reviews are spot on. We were a fortunate walk in as a few groups didn't get a table. You need to book.

Predominantly seafood but I don't eat seafood. They have other varieties and all we're amazing. My wife had a fish of the day and rated it the best meal she has had in recent times.

Great service, very attentive and affordable. The owners are amazing and I recommend it highly. A must eat.
