I cannot say enough about this restaurant. This is a world-class establishment. I ate at Michelin-starred places in Singapore and Seoul during the week prior to visiting Supattra, and Supattra is every bit as deserving of a star as those restaurants.
The basil and gin cocktail was well-balanced and delightful. My wife's cocktail, a ginger daiquiri, was also wonderful.
We shared an appetizer of tofu and vegetable stuffed little fried packages. These were delicious and beautiful. We shared two entrees. We had the blue crab with yellow curry and a whole local fish (cannot recall the species) which was prepared fried and toped with tons of spicy local herbs and vegetables. These two plates were both just incredible. The seafood and ingredients were hyper-local. The flavors were just amazing...sweet, sour, salty, spicy, crunchy, soft.
Finally, the service was great. This is a husband (front of house/bar) and wife (chef) team that go out of their way to make you feel welcome and explain their menu. If I am ever back in Samui, I will be here every night.
