I had read the reviews on Larn Thong and wanted to see what all the fuss was about. My girlfriend booked a table for 2 before our arrival. We caught a taxi from Central Pattaya to Larn Thong which took about 20-30mins. On arrival we were greeted with a number of hotel buildings on a large acreage. Not sure on where to go a hotel staff member ushered as in the direction of the beach and eventually a restaurant that had BBQ seafood and not a seafood buffet. I believe this may have been deliberate as the restaurant was not very busy. My Thai girlfriend then had to explain we wanted the Larn Thong restaurant and a seafood buffet, we were directed to another restaurant 150 metres away. The Larn Thong restaurant overlooks the sea and a very large outdoor tropical pool. The views were magnificent on a warm balmy night from our outside table. The staff and service at the restaurant was excellent. The food without doubt was sensational, on offer there was fresh seafood / bbq seafood / stir fried seafood / tempura style seafood / sushi / seafood salads / seafood soups /seafood hotpots. The seafood on offer lobster from Maine / oysters / mussels / scallops / scampi / a variety of prawns / salmon / squid (calamari) and crab. The cooked dishes were superbly cooked and had plenty of flavour. There also were salads / cold meats / vegetables / crispy pork belly and duck. There was also a very large dessert bar with plenty of delicious desserts on offer / cheese + biscuits and fresh fruits. Absolutely fabulous food, service and views highly recommended for a great night out. The cost was 1650 baht per person for the quality and variety of food on offer which was quite reasonable. They also have extensive wine and drinks menu with a wide variety of wines from around the world. A Saturday night visit to Larn Thong should be on your bucket list of things to do in Pattaya.
