We stayed in Hanoi for a month and spent our last night here to be closer to our bus pick up. Worst choice ever. Their name is very similar to the better hostel nearby, so I confused them. The staff was nice when I went to check if they had a room, the room looked decent at first. BUT after we moved in, (a room on the first floo, street side, 14usd) we found out that : the bed sheets looked not dirty but not even clean. The pillowcase was dirty and we asked for another. The maid brought us another one, which was even worse. At around midnight, we couldnt sleep due to the noise from the a\c on the balcony. It was like a washing machine.. I went down, the staff were sleeping with their feet on the tables (where we had dinner, blah) and no one wanted to stand up and come to our room. Finalle, one guy (the manager) came up with me (cos I was getting really mad), but he said that the a\c wasn't noisy at all. I took him down to the other side of the street and we could really hear the noise from the a\c, so he agreed that it was noisy. He tried to fix it somehow, but the noise got much worse. He eventually simply tried to leave without giving any soution, but I asked him to move to another room. "No,the hotel is full)". After I sent him to hell, he suddenly found a room on the top floor, which LOOKED nice. So, after 2 hours on the bed, we moved out and, while we where still re-packing our stuff, he MADE the bed " for the next guests" ( he simply used the same covers, didnt clean anything, just like they did before with us). In this room, the minibar was extremely dirty inside, this guy even had the courage to check if we took something from it! Disgusting! We went to the top floor, in the new room, which looked better, but still "cleaned" their way... We had to put our shirts on the pillows before we could put our face on them, since they were filthy. Just behind the bed there was a wall half covered by a long curtain (I wapould say that the curtain was wrapping the wall or hiding something). We were finally falling asleep, when something moved behind the curtain and climbed it until the top. And then again a few more times. They were rats. So I locked the curtain with all I had and tried to keep me and my gf safe for the night. I didnt sleep at all, honestly, and the following morning I went down to the reception asking for my passports (these MFs seized them when I checked in!). I had to pay in for the room in order to get our passports back. Then we left and I yelled at every guest of their "restaurant"next to the reception not to eat there, since they had rats. I hope they undertood... We had breakfast and dinner there, I wish someone had informed me of what was goi on in that place. This people just deserve to go to jail.
The manager wasnt there when we left, but believe me, he got very lucky...
