I found this museum to be really interesting. It shows you how the ethnic cultures of the Vietnamese live in the mountain areas. Their beliefs, customs, clothes etc. You can even enter full replica houses and watch how they were built and assembled on site. I was quite surprised at how much I enjoyed my visit.

very interesting museum, that is not imposing a main stream view about the homogeneity of Vietnam. More than 50 ethnies to melt in a single country ...

Les explications écrites sont très bien faites.

You will see Vietnam differently.

There are so many ethnic minorities in Vietnam all with very distinctive values, customs and beliefs. The first I had ever heard of the Muong Hill tribes of Vietnam was in a Clint Eastwood movie called Gran Torino. A grumpy old vet lives next to a Muong family and learns a thing or two. I enjoyed this museum with its beautiful displays, maps and pictures of people from the various minority groups. Well worth a visit.

This museum has a ton of information, it can be a little overwhelming. But it does a great job showing you information about all the minority and majority ethnic tribes. They have some life size houses you can view outside, as well as a small water puppet show.
