Ly Club Restaurant in District 3, Ho Chi Minh City is a superb restaurant in a beautiful setting. This was our second visit and though the food of choice was excellent, unfortunately the service was not and it was probably down to an event being held in the outside dinning area which appeared to leave very few staff to look after the clients including ourselves who were seated inside the restaurant... however, if you want a special dinner with a romantic setting, superb Asian & Western food then this place is a must try if you are either living in HCMC or passing through....

We went here to celebrate my husband's birthday. The setting is delightful, very romantic, with the French colonial architecture, fountain, art deco furnishings with a live pianist providing ambient music. The staff really went all out to make the occasion special. The menu they recommended was excellent. Highly recommend the pumpkin soup, the oysters and the desserts. the desserts are to die for. Every dish looked and tasted superb. The service staff were all very attentive and helpful. They even provided a complimentary birthday cake for our celebration. We enjoyed ourselves immensely and would definitely come back again.

What a beautiful setting for an excellent meal. The restaurant is classic French Colonial in styling with a lovely garden area and fountain as well as a live pianist providing ambient music. We were there as part of a large tour group so had a set meal with several courses. The appetizer was a combination of deep-fried spring rolls, minced beef and a wok-fried vermicelli with crab meat and bell pepper. The second course was a oxtail soup which I found to be a little on the salty side. Our main course was medium rare roasted duck breast in orange sauce and steamed Asian spinach with garlic. Steamed rice was served in a lotus leaf. Dessert was a selection of ice creams. All was incredibly delicious. I found the servings to be perfectly sized but others in our group felt they were a bit too dainty. We were told that the restaurant was air-conditioned but when we arrived it was pretty obvious that it was not. Doors and windows were open to the outside where it was still in the upper 80s. Unfortunately, we were in a corner and there was no air circulation at all. Huge industrial fans were brought out and then it was rather like sitting on the deck of a ship with gale force winds. Beggars definitely cannot be choosers in that situation. Aside from the lack of gentle air circulation, my only other complaint is that the staff was rather quick to remove plates leaving me with my fork poised to pick up a bite only to find everything whisked away before I had a chance. Still very enjoyable. I would recommend Ly's for a lovely dinner.

We went here for a set lunch with our guide and had a fantastic meal so decided to go for another a la carte meal in the evening. The food could easily have passed of as michelin style food in London and the sevice was excellent. Our best meal in Vietnam.
