We spent two nights at LaResidence. Great pool. Restaurant opens to views of the Perfume River. Dinner was very well prepared and served. Shops were one of the outstanding features and prices so reasonable. The hotel was clean and well managed. The only drawback in our room was having to step up on a stool then down into an older bathtub. Shower water was a little difficult to control at times. Very convenient location.

Nice place with everything you would expect of a 4/5 star hotel. Located next to the Perfume River but not really on the riverside.
We had a nice room 3rd floor with a balcony and it nice to be able to relax after a day out in Hue or touring. You are slightly out of the centre so it is a 15/20 minute walk to what is the mayhem of Hue. There are several local restaurants and coffee shops nearby.
Upon arrival check in is easy and they provide a voucher for a free cocktail or drink.
Breakfast can be taken outside on the patio and is of a high standard. We did not eat in the hotel restaurant but from what we could see it was quite expensive.
There is a large swimming pool.

Dear Brian G,
Thank you very much for choosing to stay at La Residence Hue Hotel & Spa – MGallery by Sofitel. It’s glad to hear that you had a nice stay at La Residence Hue. Yes, we are in agreement that our residence is fortunate to be situated in such a superb location off the banks of the Perfume River in close proximity to all of the majestic pagodas and cultural sites that make up Hue; there are many restaurants and coffee shops nearby and the taxi and xich lo are always available.
Again, thank you for taking the time to share a nice comment on Trip Advisor. We hope to see you next time, when you may decide to try our fine dining restaurant that many guests tell us was the highlight of their visit to Hue.
Sincerely,
Phan Trong Minh

This was the only “chain” hotel that we stayed at on our trip. It is definitely in the “western luxury” category – quite lovely and probably pricy by local standards. Our room was very comfortable and looked over the large pool.

I opted to pay a little more for a river view, but it wasn’t worth it (glimpses through the trees) – I would only ask for a room on the back side of the hotel rather than facing the street, but a view of the courtyard area is fine.

This property runs like a finely-tuned car. Everything hums along as expected in a five-star hotel. Just about anything you need will be flawlessly delivered. We spent some time by the magnificent pool - and enjoyed the exotic drinks - a nice change in the hubbub of the outside world.

This hotel had one of the more extensive breakfast choices served in a very large dining room. We had dinner there twice and it was really good. The staff was very accommodating. One night a large family with boisterous children were in the dining room and we were graciously moved to a quiet table outside. Food is excellent – must be the French influence since this is a Sofitel hotel. Oh, and don't pass by the boutiques. While you may think you are going to be charged more for the venue, the items are designer and reasonably priced.

Loved the location – I walked through the park which runs along the river. It was decorated for the Lunar New Year and there were lots of families. Don’t go to the pho place across the street – they don’t serve pho – only drinks!

Room tip: Choose a room on the back side.

We just left Hue and on our way to Hoi An. We stayed 2 nights at La Residence. We have been traveling in Southeast Asia for 2 1/2 weeks.
This was one of our best experiences. Even though we tried to upgrade and we couldn't because of the hotel being sold out.
It was the people that made it so special. Yes, the hotel is beautiful. I love the deco style, and they have maintained the ambience of that time.
Tam, the young woman that greeted us when we checked in, was always available for all of our needs. She was so professional.
There was a young women in the restaurant that was charming. Her name was Dong. We looked forward to our meals because of her. Very engaging and so sweet.
Then there was Tien, he was the bartender. He mixed my special Cosmopolitan. He also worked breakfast in the mornings.
Through my travels all over the world, I have found that it is the people that make hotels special.
This is a very special hotel.

While the hotel looks good from the pictures the actual experience is disappointing. The service at times is what I would call smug and somewhat arrogant. They don't listen to what you are requesting or telling them. The rooms are on the small side. The internet maybe free but is not up to standard. The breakfast pricing is confusing and over priced. I would not recommend this even though I am an Accor member

Dear Hem3061,
Many thanks for letting us know your thoughts regarding your recent stay at La Residence Hue .
We are sorry to hear that your experience was not as comfortable as our guests usually find. At La Residence, we always welcome constructive feedback and we are always striving for improvement. Our team prides itself on a friendly, service-minded attitude, so we would really appreciate a little more information so we can brief the team on your comments. Please reply directly to me at gmo@la-residence-hue.com
Occasionally in peak times our larger suite rooms are fully booked and we do apologize that a more suitable room was not available for you, and regarding the breakfast comments, apologies for the misunderstanding as bookings via Accor with room and breakfast reserved at the same time, allows 23% off for breakfast as an early bird promotion. Our breakfast buffet is quite unique in the variety, freshness and quality of the produce, with many items imported and prepared hygienically, and pricing is in line with other comparable hotels
Once again, we appreciate very much the opportunity to refine our service & we hope to welcome you back at La Residence Hue in the future.

Sincerely,
Phan Trong Minh
