The course is on muddy reclaimed land in a valley with minimal natural features ...muddy long grassed very narrow fairways ,water hazards and with the ball not running golf was just ok...not in the same street as Vinpearl. !!!!! ps the greens were good , running at 9.5and the reception and club house staff/ experience was first class. (CT. handicap 5)......
An opportunity lost with magnificent costal sand dunes only a few Kms away . ctale

I'll just start off by saying that the course is beautiful, well kept and immaculate.

But that's where it ended myself and a friend who played a round recently. You pay quite a large amount for the 18holes, we hired a cart and clubs and it comes with caddies (which is a compulsory fee).

The caddies weren't super knowledgable about golf and their English wasn't great (two young gents about 20years old). They were nice, but seemed to just say generic golf terms and I basically had to say which club I wanted everytime without them suggesting one.

But the worst part about our experience was the end. The caddies gave showed us where to 'rate' them at the end of the round, and because they were nice we gave them good scores. AFTER this, we were waiting for a cab to return to our hotel and the 'head' caddie came up to us to ask for a tip for our caddies. We tried to tell him we had already paid for them, why did we need to tip them? I offered about $3-$4AUD in tips just to get him off our backs. He was insistent on us giving them about $20 EACH in tips. We hadn't gotten in our taxi yet and were worries they would say something to the driver so we settled on giving them about $20 total tip.

We were basically extorted into giving them a tip. After paying $250+ for a single round of golf and having to have to pay them already is a joke. I understand they aren't paid well and they may not see much of the caddie fee to begin with, but to ambush us on our way out for a large tip is disgusting.

Our group enjoyed this course greatly although there were complaints about the slope on one of the Par 5 greens. Superb "scallop shell" bunkering meant care had to taken with shot placement.
The whole experience from the caddie welcome & the super locker rooms added to the experience.
The island green 12th hole provided a challenge into the breeze and the 9th deserved its number 1 stroke hole rating.
Would love to play this course again.

I will start by saying that I live in Vietnam and manage an education consultancy in Saigon. We arrived at Diamond Bay Resort on 30 December 2015 with the intentions of enjoying new years and playing golf at the DB Golf and Villas. We went to the Golf Club House on the afternoon of 30 Dec to make tee time reservations for the next day. we intended to be at the driving range 1 hour before our tee time and we thought we had completed our reservation but the next day after we arrived at the clubhouse we had to go through the tee time reservation all over again and when we got to the driving range, they asked us what we wanted to do as if we were there for any other purpose that to hit balls. When we finished hitting golf balls into the ocean (go figure) we went back for our tee time and we started our golf about 45 minutes late because of rain and we started on hole number 10. When we finished 9 holes we decided that it was too late to play the remaining 9 holes so we went back to the clubhouse and asked if we could play the front 9 holes the next day and we were promptly told No and we had to pay for the 18 holes...9 of which we did not play...and this is supposedly a resort course...not a private Country Club. I have played golf in over 20 countries and never been treated this bad ever. I highly recommend that travelers avoid this Golf Course at all costs and either play at VinPearl or at the courses in Da Nang or Phan Thiet where I have been treated much better and they actually speak English and know something of the typical management of a golf course. It was overall a bad experience for us and I will certainly never come back or bring any of my clients here as well.
