If you are going to do a tour while you are visiting Armenia, Hyur should be your go to! Not only was this tour extremely easy and convenient to schedule, (we communicated over WhatsApp, and visited the conveniently located office downtown) it was an extremely good value with professional and knowledgeable guides.
Hamas Karapetyan was an excellent guide, extremely knowledgeable about the places we visited and put up with the 100's of questions we had on Armenia and the culture. We went into this tour knowing very little about the history of Armenia, but Hamas did an excellent job explaining the timeline, history of religion in Armenia, along with some comments on modern day-Armenian culture and current events.
I thought this tour was a perfect addition to our 5 overall days in Armenia, it allowed us to see some other parts of the country outside of Yerevan and really get a feel for the history and culture of Armenia. We definitely learned a LOT on this day long excursion (along with attempting to cook Lavash and almost burning my hand) which was quite the experience. The day started at 10:30 and we returned to the hotel at 6:30. Having a private bus allowed us to really take our time and have that personalized experience that we would maybe have not had in a bigger tour group. Overall i'd highly recommend Hyur and wish we had more time to do another tour to other parts of the country. Everyone we worked with here was friendly, professional, welcoming and eager to show us this beautiful little country.
